IntroductionAmongst the movies made on comic heros, I found Hulk as one of the more boring ones, predominanly for the slowness of the plot. But, still being a comic fan, I could not resist a dab as the second offering of the series The Incredible Hulk.

The PlotDr. Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) is on the run from the US govt., after wrecking havoc as Hulk. Bruce is now hiding Brazil and working with a secret scientist Dr. Blue in finding a solution for his condition. He is also working on controlling his pulse rate to avoid the transformation to Hulk. Gen. Ross (William Hurt) is hot on his heels and gets special agent Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth) on the case.

Emil chases Banner and when he finally nails him all hell breaks loose as Banner becomes Hulk. Emil gets vengeful and gets Ross to inject a super serum to transform him into a superhero to track Hulk down. Will Blonsky get Banner or Hulk? Will Banner meet Dr. Blue and get a solution to his problem? What is Gen. Ross upto? Check out this movie for the details.Critic's ViewpointDirector Louis Letterier has done well to learn from the experience of the first movie. This movie is definitely better paced and has more action than the first one. That said, the movie still is quite slow for my liking as it is.

The movie also seems to explode in bits and pieces and there is a start stop feel to it. Everytime some action erupts we are treated to scenes of slow moving story where Hulk transforms back to Banner and tries to drag himself back into civilization. Also the reels with Betty (Liv Taylor) are a major drag on the movie and do not seem to take the movie any further. The special effects, the sound effects and the action scenes are very well done. I liked some of the action sequences especially the one that was in the University grounds as that was an open field action.

The rest of the action like the ones on the streets and in the factory were either too dark or were moving so fast in the scene that I could only make bits and pieces out of it. But overall there was much more action than the first part.Edward Norton plays his part honestly and is able to bring to screen the pain that he feels with this transformation in a uncontrollable creature. The rest of the crew were just about ok with no great performances to comment on.

Couple of other things which I liked was the pedometer concept to highlight the nearness to transformation. Also, I saw that a couple of potential future super villains have been introduced in the movie which sets up future sequels to the movie.SummaryAll in all a much better effort than the first offering. But still things can improve very much. I would give this movie an average three star rating.
