You must have gone through many book reviews. Infact so many people write book reviews just the moment they like it or completely dislike it.I am going to tell you how my thinking changed towards mythology.Shiva trilogy by Amish TripathiĀ is just beautiful and it is hard to put it away without finishing it. Amish Tripathi has no doubt written in the most contemporary way but also has kept the cultural element intact.I have never read mythology books until this one. I always thought of Lord Shiva as a powerful deity. Amish has written about him in a fresh perspective. The way the author has used his knowledge about the history and geography and also uses the culture of the landscapes is impeccable. We as children often used to think how that particular thing can happen and have no answers to it and just stop showing interest in it. For instance how did gods have multiple hands and heads or how did they have animal like features or the weapons like the Bramhastra or even how did they live so long or how could the practice of Sati come into existence and similarly the Agni pariksha. Well just in those cases we never got scientific answers to those questions. Here in this book, it has been explained with a new perspective. And the author's exemplary use of all the mythological characters is commendable. This book does make you think, what is the today's evil. The way the plot of the story is laid out keeps one hooked until it finishes and gives you a book hangover.
