Shiva Trilogy [Reviewing set of 3 books together]
The Immortals of Meluha:
After a long gap of "not-reading much" grabbed this one from a railway platform and from the very beginning it kept me attached to it until I finished all the 3 parts.
The Secret of The Nagas:
Ohh such a twist! Sure there was a hint that the Nagas are good people but the relations being unfolded truly took me by surprise. Emotional a lil bit :)
The Oath of The Vayuputras:
I was hoping that Shiva would calm down and not use the nuclear weapon. But he did. I was hoping that Bhrigu and Shiva would have a dialogue where he gets it but it was a bit abrupt in the end… the good Parvateshwar and Anandmayi die while Bhrigu the mastermind lives with no punishment coz he just gets it on his own? Guess it's personal fury leading to disaster portrayed to show after all Shiva was just human and not God.
I was also expecting some magic to happen towards the end but aah Sati died and just no magic at all happened that she could get back, sure makes one wonder that may be all the Gods of now were once normal human beings who just did something crucial and unimaginable or impossible to make a difference. Good to call them Gods but not good to worship them blindly with lacs of rituals which are made by people on the name of God.
The scientific approach blended with facts plus like it says is a work of fiction which makes the entire series an interesting read. Sure for me the detail about where the troop was ganging up to attack from which angle was quite complex to understand but then aah over all too good. I was in tears to see the lovers separate and die together and stick to each no matter what like the happy endings, personally.
But oh well, this trilogy is too cool. I am sure am prob the 3 millionth +1 reader, so many must have said this already.
Oh just forgot that last line I was about to write. ;) Never mind ! Chow !!
