hi, I have just completed reading the book The House on Cold Hill by Peter James. Its a believable story which takes place in the year 2015 . A small family moves into an old house that is build around 2 centuries ago. The place is called Cold Hill.
well i honestly feel the story has been stretched monotonously too long. the writer mentions the household chores time after time with very few jump scares. Its supposed to be horror novel. Just seeing shadows till the very end of the novel isnt going to get praises. Yes last 60 pages are page turners because things start happening very fast . but i never got really scared.
i think this story is not for mature audience who would like to go deep into the problem. The story just skirmishes above surface . the writer seldom tries to make the story rich and deep in meaning. altogether an average but readable book.
