After LOTR,J.R.R Tolkien and Peter Jackson fans will find The Hobbit a bloated, fast paced and meaningless adventure that was gathering people's attraction through its TV spots, trailers and teasers for one year.

The story follows a self-centered Hobbit(Bilbo Baggins)who stays inside his warm and cozy Hobbit-hole,sucks a nice long weed-pipe and enjoys his lifestyles without any adventures, visitors or any other dangerous experiences in his life. One day he confronts all these thanks to Old Wizard Gandalf the Grey and a band of thirteen dwarfs including their leader Thorin Oakenshield who are looking to recover their lost golds and a precious jewel (also known as the Arkenstone). They are also looking to revive their city Dale's lost pride and honor after its people were driven away in the wilderness by the dragon Smog that lays upon their heap of gold.Bilbo in the role of a burglar disagrees to go on this adventure but suddenly accepts it without any justified reason. The film encounters their troubles and hardships which they face on their quest including goblins and trolls.

The performers of the film that rose to the occasion are Martin Freeman in the role of the protagonist Bilbo Baggins,Sir Ian Mckellan in the role of Gandalf the Grey and Richard Armitage in the role Thorin Oakenshield adds value to a dull fantasy movie.

The riddles in the dark scene that revolves around Bilobo's encounter with the creature Gollum is 'no-doubt' eye-catching.The glorious kingdom of Erabour ruled By the king Thrain, the great battle of Moria landscapes of the Misty Mountains and the hidden valley of Rivendell will give the cinematographer a hats off and provide a good medium of tourism in New Zealand. Still there remains many drawbacks that will anguish audiences including the unexpected inclusion of Radagast the brown, alterations in the plot taken from the book and the description of the Necromancer. There are other short flaws that gives the feeling of being in Disney Wonderland.

It is the musical brilliance once again that reminds us of the legendary LOTR which was also composed by Howard Shore.

The film is a fun, thrilling and a joyful ride with a tinge of courage and affection sadly enjoyable only by children.

Overall it is a sad return to Middle-Earth.
