I wanted to subscribe for the daily - Hindustan Times, thinking it was a great newspaper:
Here are the details:
21 Oct 2005 --I paid cash Rs 449/- to HT representative Puneet on our company campus at Andheri, Mumbai. Receipt No. 714
30 Oct 2005 -- called Rakesh to check and was informed that he will look into it.
21/nov/05 -- called Sanjana who checked the system and found my details. She told me that she will look into it
29/nov/05 -- called Dinesh who again checked the system and found my details. He told me that he will look into it. also called Ankita of subscription dept at 56539200 and got the assurance that it will be taken care of.
- calls to 56265755 / 74/ 76 /87 are not being attended most of the times
19/dec/05 -- called Rakesh and Ankita, and both of them promised to do something about it.
20/dec/05 -- Rakesh sent me SMS from your mobile mentioning that someone would call me the next day to
settle the matter. Nothin happened.
Jan/04/2006 -- sent email to : avik sengupta [mailto:avik.sengupta@hindustantimes.com

[reply on Jan 12/2006 I am sorry that it is taking some time to get the same implimented. I also understand that you have been following up this matter consistently for the last 2 months, but I assure you that it is my responsibilty to put your query in place and start your your copies at the earliest. Regards ]
Called up Thomas (9820204470) on Mar 15/2006 and told him to return my money. He refused to comply.
I have since shifted to Pune on May 27, 2006. The case rests there. In India, where the judiciary is having a backlog of crores of cases, anyone or any big company can cheat people and get away with it. I have more things to do than chase HT for Rs 449/-
Now that I am in Pune, I just want my money back. They don't supply the paper in Pune. Can anyone suggest something?
Thanks...
[I have to thanks Ritesh : https://mouthshut.com/review/The_Hindustan_Times-106656-1.html who gave me the idea of putting it on mouthshut. I have put the same as reply to his review too.]
