I'm not a fan of ghost movies and usually avoid them as I tend to "see " them everywhere, once the movie is over! But still , I like the feeling of getting scared in a "safe" atmosphere without being exposed to the real danger.
Some ghosts kill for revenge and some kill those who come in their vicinity.Grudge deals with the ghosts which belong to the later category. You don't have to go to an old mansion in the jungle or have to drive late night on a highway to see it because it can happen to the house next to you.
Or maybe in the flat next to yours. What if you visit a place and you come back with a curse which will kill you no matter where you go, no matter how safe you are! Some such facts about Grudge makes it very appealing as you might feel that it can happen to YOU as well, right now as you are reading this review!
I'm scared of lady ghosts with long black hair with hidden faces more than the Dracula or the Zombies and Grudge fits my bill perfectly. Imagine such a lady walking up to you at the stairs once you are leaving your office late at night and showing you her face with a missing jaw, imagine your monitor turning black and a pair of eyes looking back at you! Grudge has many such scary moments and lot more. However, the best part of the movie is a rattle-sound which indicates the presence of Kayako, the ghost!!!'
If you think you can handle such scenarios then its a must watch for you. Sam Raimi and Co. have narrated a fantastic story and you will love they way the story will slowly be revealed after a confusing start. Make sure that you are not too scared to miss the story behind it.
So go and check your closet, curtains and bathroom as she can be there..right now!
