This hotel is situated 1-2km from Coonoor railway station at Ooty is approx 16-18km from this hotel. I stayed for 3 days with my family, I must say that, this place in Nilgiris hills is so peaceful that you will feel like reaching heaven on earth with maximum greenery all around.
When I entered hotel, at the reception we were welcome with flowers and some hot ginger honey drink which gave smoothness to our throats as it was very cold at that time.
Hotel is built along with church as it was used to be oldest house for nuns and fathers of church then later I got converted into hotel by gateway groups which are associated with Taj hotels and resorts group. When the name of Taj joins with any hotel then it automatically become best hotel as you get lots of facilities from small to big. This hotel is near to Ooty, Lovedale and Coonoor so you can almost cover everything in whole day if you get out of room early morning.
There is one tea estate also which allows you to see whole process of tea making, after that you can buy same samples of team from their factory outlet. Gateway hotel of Coonoor is well built with lots of facilities like badminton court, tennis court, gym, playground with rides for children, no one can get bore easily at this hotel. Every evening hotel staff organise bonfire and games for families and children, there is one reception hall also for marriages and parties.
There is also provision of cycling for small to big age of children. Price of hotel is also much affordable. Food here is very good, specially chicken curry, every food from breakfast to dinner was looking like home made food so there was no single chance of getting ill from their hygienic food. There is one sports or play room for kids which has chess, carom and football so no one can get bore all day. I loved this hotel very much because after so many days of noisy city, my ears got some peaceful relaxation in Nilgiri hills. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who really want to enjoy peaceful relaxed vacations.
