Story:

The Glycemic Index Diet, by Rick Gallop, is a simplistic, common sense approach to good nutrition, weight control and how to feel your very best. It is not a fad diet, a quick weight loss scam or an unhealthy gimmick that preys upon those who are so desperate to lose weight. This book explains to you how your body works and responds to the foods you eat. It is that simple and while you are using what you’ve learned from this book, you will be helping your body fight off many diseases and increasing your energy, too.

Fad diets and the like have caused so many people to make unhealthy choices in hopes to lose their unwanted weight. Unfortunately, these fads are teaching very bad habits and often causing serious health problems. Forget the “quick fixes” and start understanding your body better, so that you can feel great, look great and never starve yourself again. The author, Rick Gallop, does a wonderful job explaining the functions of certain organs, what your body really needs and how to stop craving the things your body doesn’t need. It is amazing how simple this is! I read the book in one afternoon! I already understood some of the concepts behind the Glycemic Index, but after reading this book, I had an even better understanding and I also had some very useful tips that I could apply to everyday life. It helps you determine where you can make better nutrition choices, such as, if you are going to eat bread…make sure that it has 5-6 grams of fiber per serving. When you eat in this way, you are providing your body with the nutrition it needs, feeling fuller from it and automatically avoiding some of the “white stuff” that is not so good for you. Simple carbohydrates like; white bread, white rice, high carb’ pastas and such can be replaced with a healthier and yet, still tasty and satisfying alternative. Learn how sugars are addictive and how they block your body’s ability to burn fat…even when you are taking in fewer calories!

It truly is amazing how simple it is to eat right, feel great and live healthier. This book is worth the investment! It is so popular in the states that I couldn’t even find it in any library around me and the waiting lists were very long. I am glad that I went out and bought it right away.
