The Greatest Psycho Ever. Review on The Dark Knight Movie

There are times when you see a great movie and you want the sequel to be better, The Dark Knight does not disappoint, it pretty much blows Batman Begins away. You are constantly kept at the edge of your seat throughout the movie, and just when you thought that the movie had finally ended, guess what? There is more, things go from bad to disastrous and on a massive scale. The action, direction, stunts, special effect, and the acting are on a different level than anything before, would like to see more movies like this. It is movies like these which encourage one to go back to watching movies in the theater again. The only part that leaves you wanting in the movie is the replacement of Katie Holmes by Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes who looks more like Bruce Wayne’s mother than his love interest and the fact that she is able to attract Aaron Eckhart as well, is a joke.

The Joker

I have seen quite a lot of Heath Ledgers movies - A Knight's Tale, The Patriot and Casanova - and I am still having trouble accepting the fact that the Joker in the Dark Knight was indeed Heath Ledger. The joker doesn't look, sound, walk, act anything like what Heath Ledger does in his other movies. The one thing, in fact the only thing that comes to mind while you watch the Joker is "PSYCHO!” Heath Ledger doesn't play the role, HE IS the character, and more likely than hate him, you are probably going to be scared of him. If there were two opposites in the world it would be Batman and the Joker. Batman is the hero relentless in the search of justice, incorruptible, rational. The Joker is the true villain, relentless in his crusade to terrorize; nothing appeases him other than the psychotic pleasure of driving fear into the minds of people, a true nihilist, completely out of his mind, whose scary appearance is outdone only by his actions and their implementation. This movie is more about the Joker than it is about Batman which is what makes it different. Enough of the focus on the hero, bring on the age of the dark villain.

However, its the very greatness of the acting of Heath which disappoints, we shall never again be witness to anything like this with his demise.
