Story:

You've heard of the Mona Lisa, but do you even have a vague idea of who she is?..Oh sorry, he is?oh not again ..itis!! confused?..Well here?s a shocker!!.. The Mona Lisa is neither a male nor a female, infact it is a bisexual portrayal by Leonardo Da Vinci!!!

Ridiculous, bewildered ,amazed, egregious?..well u can chose what u want to call it, but I term it a HUMDINGER ?not only does ?The Da Vinci Code? explore a whole new world of unknown facts, but it redefines novel reading at its supreme best. And to pen down this masterpiece ,Dan Brown deserves every bit of the accolades and appreciation.

You can read and read a thousand novels but fail to find a masterpiece such as this?cos The Da Vinci Code not only possesses the magnetic charisma of a heart pulsating novel but for the sheer knowledge that it throws at u ,it scores full marks?to say that it is an ocean of knowledge would be an understatement and to claim that its one in a decade novel wouldn?t be an exaggeration either!!!?to put it simply?the Da Vinci Code is a cut above the rest.

The reasons I can?t stop raving about this novel r plenty, but I have no doubt in my mind that Dan brown deserves a standing ovation for his audacious approach and more importantly an impressive research work?. It wouldn?t take an Einstein to figure out why this novel is so highly debated and ridiculed in every.

Christian missionary and also for the much publicized Opus Dei functioning?critics have lashed out at Dan Brown for the authenticity of his research work and also the story behind ?the last supper? ,which insinuates that Christ?s better half was indeed present in the picture ?add to it the all ?the holy grail? and what u get is an amalgamation of the steepest curves and twist ever found in a novel?there are three highlighting factors or reasons why I feel this novel has been so successful and the same time ridiculed

1.The very nature of this novel and the facts (which Dan brown claims are true) are provocative and give the reader some food for thought. It isn?t an essay sort of a novel where u read the story and accept it as it is but rather compels the reader to draw his or her own conclusions.

2. this I feel has been the most significant reason behind the criticism for this novel?a few facts which aims at suggesting that Christ was married to Mary Magdalene much to the prejudices of the world largest religion which is predominantly Christianity, which has led to the popularity of this novel in every nook and corner of the world.

3. and finally the narration?trust me I would love to get into the mind of this writer and understand how it works cos this man is a master craftsman at narrating stories?.add to the fact that he has a great story to narrate and u get ? The Da Vinci Code.?

It is known fact hat the ethics and egos of a large section of Christianity are hurt owing to a few facts(or fiction!!) mentioned by Dan Brown. Indeed a lot of the facts and ideas mentioned by Dan Brown a provocative and it difficult not to condemn them if u r a true Christ follower? But I have got a certain point of view with regards to this?

Instead of debating whether the facts mentioned r indeed true or not we can do a whole lot of good to ourselves by not getting influenced and over odd by the facts(or fiction!!) mentioned in this novel.

Believe me if we analyse this novel carefully and if one of u is reading my review after having read the novel , you are bound to agree with me that Dan Brown has not attempted to patronize or influence his beliefs . At the same time the author has mentioned that a few facts are authentic and true (just before the story begins)?which is perfectly acceptable cos the Opus Dei certainly exists and The Holy Grail is much sought after? You may choose to call it a figment of his imagination or a piece of fiction?the debate is endless?.

In the end the author has left the onus on us to decide ,like the say ''Let the truth prevail'' , which is why the climax turns out to be rather a tame and languid one?its isn?t a piece of work u can associate as pandering to one?s needs?but rather a beautifully crafted masterpiece which has loads of knowledge to offer?

I must admit that prior to reading this novel, my knowledge on arts and history ran into negative numbers but I can now proudly claim to be a pro at some things?for the time being I ll let u decide ?.if not for anything but for pure pleasure of reading The Da Vinci Code is a must?go grab ur copy now?!!!
