City of Violence is directed by Ryu Seung-Wan and stars Lee Beom-soo Ahn Gil-Gang Jung Doo-Hong Kim Seo-Hyung This is a korean film, a country that is showing all other nations how to make good film with less budget. ...But as this review is not about the korean film idustry but merley about n korean action film I will only write about the film. The Citiy of violence is an Action movie. It takes place in a town where once people were farming and living from agriculture but time has changed everything. All the green is gone, industrialisation is spoiling the scenery and everyhting looks rough and sad., as is the plot. Childhood friends become enemies.
One friend murderes the other in order to get his territory. One friend who is a police officer in Seoul gets the message. He comes back to his hometown after a decade and sees everything changed. He and another friend who eagerly wants to find the murderer are brokenhearted that one of their own has done the bloody deed. Well that is the basic plot .
More about the plot I wont tell cause I myself hate filmspoiling--i also dislike reviews that in detail tell u about the plot and last of so many words--Spoiling a movie only to get a VERY USEFUL rating--i like it more to write reviews for those who have not got in seen a the movie yet--Ok but back the movie The film only need about 90plus minutes to tell us about everything mentioned above and put some great martial Arts Action in. Heroic bloodshed all around leaving us scream for more though the last action scene that leads to the end of the movie lasts 20 minutes of hard hand-to-hand combat and tough, fast and brutal martial art fights.
The actiong is top notch, every scene where great acting is demanded the artist do perform. But this all around perfomance of a korean film dooes not really surprise me, ..There are other korean film like A bittersweet life, MUSA, Once upon a time in Highschool, brotherhood, and many more, .....But as I am not here to write about this movie I quit writing now :)....l have fun trying this movie and I hope this can make u watch more of their films.
