I went in for narnia because I am a fan of children movies and I prefer them to action or romantic movies anyday. I thought it would be something like harry potter and went in very excited but what I saw there simply caught my breath!!!!!!
not in my wildest dreams did I think about a story like Narnia. first of all, hats off to the writer of this strory, I hear its an old epic, and the makers of narnia and the cute little girl, well I don know her name,eh!
the story begins with the second world war at hand and the mother or four children sends them away for safety to an old professor. the children are by themselves in his house as the professor is not to be disturbed and the housemaid is nowhere close to being friendly.
the kids start amusing themselves by playing games like cricket and baseball and hide and seek. when they start playing hide and seek, the little girl hides at the back of the wardrobe and then trying to hide herself she reaches the end of the wardrobe, where narnia , the city begins........its all cold and snowy and quite over there and our totter is both amazed and intrigued with the beauty, cold and calm of the place.
then all of a sudden she meets a foon who takes her to his home and they talk and have a good time until he tells her that he was kidnapping her on orders of the white witch. the girl is too innocent to understand and tells the foon they're good friends and the foon thus touched by her love and innocence, lets her go. she comes back and tells her brothers and sister about the experience, they all obviously, donot believe her.
then her brother, younger one, also happens to be in there one day and meets the white witch instead who alures the naive boy with her treaures and good food and asks him to bring his entire family to narnia.the boy agrees and they all reach there.
narnia has been cursed by the white witch and the prophecy holds that the curse will die only when the 2 sons of adam and 2 daughters of eve arrive and fight the witch and her army.
well they reach there and the witch starts a hunt for them, and in their escape they meet santa--------yes our very own santa claus!!!!!!!!! he hands each three of the kids, because the younger brother has gone to the witch and she has prisoned him, a present. a sword to the eldest brother, a medicine to the youngest sister and a whitsle to the elder sister. the sword is for protection, the medicine to heal any disease and the whitsle to call for help.
so well they start moving to reach Aslan, the lion, who will help them fight the witch with his army and then they prepare for war. they get their brother back but the witch demands him as he was a traitor and all traitors belong to her. so aslan takes her into private and begoes his life for the life of the traitor and so it happens. Aslan is killed by the witch but she does not keep her promise and goes to war with the children and aslan's army.
but then aslan comes back to life because if anyone volunteers death for a cause and that cause is not fulfilled, death will turn back to life. so aslan is alive. belive me I jumped up clapping with everyone else in the hall on this scene. it was worth it.
and together they kill the witch. and then the kids are the kings and queens until one day they come back to their world home.
i know I gave the entire story away but believe me, this is nothing, the movie is a must watch for ur brain and trust me on this one. its worth ir.
catch the movie as many times as u want and also get a dvd of the same.
brilliant is what may put it mildly!!!!!!
