After turning to MS for reviews on so many products, its time now to post my own review.
Last saturday, for a reunion with college friends we headed to CP for enjoying a lazy winter afternoon. Had heard a lot of good things about Q'BA (not sure if its pronounced QBA or cuba!), so we thought to try the place at our own!
So 3 of us went to the restro-bar around 5pm(without making reservations in advance)...my first impression after entering the place was of its having elegant n spacious interiors...with a central circular bar table with high stools. We were escorted to a table with cushioned sofas...the waiter lighted the candle on our table..and handed over the drinks and snacks menu..
I must mention that the ambience had a very sophisticated and classy feel to it..with dimly-lit soothing lighting and light opera music in the background..
We ordered Golden basket for starters(veg)..it had an assortment of spring rolls, corn and mushroom starters, onion rings, light and tasty. Along with green valley mocktail and another cocktail ordered by one of my friends. Taste was good..though the spring rolls were a bit stiff..could have been better! Drinks were good and were served with complementary ground nuts. The service was quick and unobtrusive. The waiters were attentive yet give you ample time to enjoy your food without intruding unnecessarily..
As we had time at our disposal so we planned to stay till dinner which starts at 7. Around 7, we were escorted to the upper floor where dinner was starting to be served. It had the same great ambience as the lower floor but with chairs n dinner tables replacing the sofa lounges on the lower floor..
We ordered Hot and Sour soup followed by some pasta and Tofu(Japanese) with fried rice. The food was excellent. Though the tofu was a bit spicy but as it was mentioned in the menu that it will be spicy so its kind of ok. But the taste was real good and the portions sufficient and we enjoyed our meal..
Total bill - 3000 bucks for 3 people...slightly expensive but the overall experience justifies the rates. They also have an alfresco setting on the upper floor..would be ideal for enjoying warm wintry summers.
Would surely recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a nice evening at a classy restro-bar without the noise of a typical pub..
