Some movies are made to dig deep into the human psyche, some that delve into raw emotions, some that try to explain the inexplicable and some for pure unadulterated timepass. The A team takes you back to the Slam, Bam, Thankyou Mam Genre of Action.
So here you have this Team - that is supposed to be the most lethal covert team that exists - The A team, consisting of 4 military guys. Actually its just a Team of 2 in the beginning and they pick up a person from the road(literally) and the other from a hospital, to become 4. But obviously their name preceeds them wherever they go. So these meat-balls are given a mission on which they are duped/framed and dishonourably discharged from the Military service. Theleader of the pack plansthe escape route and the route to get back their honour.
Sometimes logics take a back seat when the aim is Action Packed Fun and so happens in The A Team. But then there are no complaints. You have Liam Neeson - the man with the deep resonant voice, leading the pack. He looks and plays the part of the veteran war hero perfectly. Then there is the charming Bradley Cooper, who woos the women and is not all brawn. Quinton Jackson plays the Brute force with little brains to perfection. But the man who takes the cake is the "District 9" hero Sharlto Copley. He plays the whacko pilot from hell brilliantly and is whacky as hell. That takes care of the acting department, as what Jessica Biel does can hardly be called Acting - but who cares anyways .
The action sequences are done expertly and the plot is a simple get duped/ seek revenge plot. So you dont have to wrack your brains on thinking whats going to happen next. It's a no brainer actually. You just keep up with the theatrics and the pyrotechnics, to have a good time at the cinema.
So if you are tired of the crap - packaged as cake, thats coming out of Bollywood, then you can have a nice time watching this blatantlyunpretentious action film from Hollywood.And its suitable for kids above 13! So you candoun-adult-ratedtimepass.
