A lot has been talked and published about Terminator 3 : Rise of Machines. The movie as all of you must be aware is the sequel of Terminator and Terminator 2 : Judgement day. The earlier two movies shattered many box-office records, and so is expected with T3. How well it does and how much does it adhere, to its predecessors is for us to see.

Plot has nothing new, as we all know it's about the war between Humans and Machines, it's the treatment I look forward to. Coming back to the story, John Connor (Nick Stahl) has grown up and is in his mid twenties. From the future a much-advanced android, T-X (Kristanna Loken), is sent to terminate him. As with the earlier versions, this time too a savior android, T800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is sent, to protect him. All we see from there-on is bloodshed and rat chase. T-X chasing John, protected by T800, but this time around John has a company in Claire Danes(Kate Brewster). T800 let us now that she is the future wife of John, and the one to send T800 from future to protect John.

The end of movie leads us to the day of Armageddon, the nuclear holocaust.

Technically, the movie is sound. Jonathan Mostow has done good job with the Direction, and James Cameroon has done well with creating characters, which at end surprises, you. Special Effects have been great, especially the chase sequence which depicts lot of destruction and mayhem.

For its special effects and aura, this time around Terminator series seem to have lost its steam. The plot had been more or less predictable at the ticket counter itself. Another disappointing factor was the Sound engineering, its been good, but the decibels at which was played left my ear buzzing, and it was same case with all of my friends, few had already asked me to carry ear-plugs. Another disappointment was Arnold himself, he has lost his charm as a Terminator and we definitely like to see someone else on Terminators shoes.

For Trivia, it was surprising that the WWE (F) wrestler Chyna was to play the role of T-X and Shane West applied for the role of John Connor. Ang Lee did an intelligent job by deciding to direct The Hulk instead of T3.

Overall, the movie is a disappointment as an individual and as a sequel to its highly successful predecessors.

It's better to watch the movie on your home theatre.
