At last, sallu *CAN* act. Review on Tere Naam

Earlier, I vowed that I would never watch ''tere naam'' even if God ordered me to do so because I just hated Salman Khan and his new hairstyle made me puke whenever I saw its promos. I didn't even like its songs. After watching the movie I find that ''Tere naam'', ''Tumse milna'', ''Kyun kisisko'' were the only good song. I wonder how it got awards for the best musical score.

After the controversy about vivek-aishwarya I started sympathizing with Sallu and decided to watch the movie as I had heard that Sallu had acted fabulous in the movie. Honestly speaking, I found that almost unbelievable because I could never imagine that sallu could even deliver a dialogue properly.

So, on 20th March, 2004, I watched Tere naam on Sony channel.

The characters:

Radhe Mohun: A pukka college gunda who has passed from colleges but is still the boss of the college. He loves ragging freshers, bashing up those who deserve to be bashed up.

Nirjara: A sweet and innocent priest's daughter.

The priest: Nirjara's father. Throughout the film I wondered where I had seen the man before and at last realized that he played KKusum's father in the serial. I think he is dead in the serial by now.

There were many other characters: Radhe's brother, over-protective sister-in-law and their daughter; nirjara's fiancé; radhe's friends or you can say chamches; radhe's dushman gang and there was also a mad girl whom radhe helped whenever in need.

The story:

Radhe rags nirjara, a fresher and realizes how innocent she is. He also meets her in a mandir and comes to know that she really sings well and makes fabulous gujias. Eventually, he falls for nirjara and breaks up into a no. of songs which were completely unnecessary. He proposes her in a library in a completely unfilmy way by saying that he would marry her and would bash up her father if he turns against the marriage. He also said that he felt a sense of responsibility in him so he would get a job of a bodyguard or a bouncer. It was hilarious to see the poor girl's facial expression as she mumbled something. Radhe takes it for yes and is overjoyed.

After a few days of misconceptions, tears and realizations, Radhe is bashed up by the dushman gang and loses his mental balance. His family sends him to some ashram due to strong recommendation by a doctor. The ashram scenes looked more like scenes from the holocaust. Slowly slowly he starts recovering as the swami applies fuller earth; tuberoses etc. to his body and chants some mantra. He flees from the ashram to find his lady love...

Performance:

Sallu is very good in the second half. Bhoomika plays the role of a sweet and innocent girl perfectly. Performances by other actors are good

After seeing the movie I feel:

Never love a guy who is a total gunda now matter how much he loves you or cares for you.

Never sport that disgusting hairstyle. But let me tell you, many boys from our school are sporting the same hairstyle and I think it has influenced them very much.

Bhoomika would look good with good cinematography. She is looking really good in the movie RUN.
