Ten Most Remembered Television Commercial Company Mascots
The ingenuineness of this review appears doubtful. Justify your opinion.
I feel this review is:
Gone are the days where mascots ruled the world. Now it just brand ambassadors who change loyalties at the shine of penny. But hey, that doesn't stop us from remembering a few who exist and a few who don't.
The Utterly Buttery Amul Gal, she even features today in the same manner she did years ago. A gal with whom many a celebrity has rubbed a shoulder with;)
The Maharaja - Air India, Our pride and a wonderful mascot. Very creative. It's also refreshing to see that the Maharaja has been 3d animated now and been given a new lease of life.
Gattu - Asian Paints, remember the painter boy who appears on every asian paints box, yes that's gattu. And how he got his name? Well years ago asian paints ran a contest where people were asked to name this boy!
Fido Dido - The 7-up guy who made a brilliant comback recently with the new 7-up ads. He can be seen doing a quawalli with yana gupta on prime time. Really cool guy!
The Kelvinator Penguin - this one's no longer with us but I guess we do remember him. The cute little penguin that used to say'it's the coolest one' for the kelvinator range of refrigerators.
The Michelin Tyre Man, A good mascot that keeps on running and showing off his performance on all surfaces. Looks cute and cuddly too:)
Another mascot that disappeared with time and made a comeback is the Onida Devil. A great concept initially, a good try now.
Krack and Jack, the two men used for krackjack biscuits were quite hilarious. The concept was kinda neat and the guys also acted well. They were also converted to cartoon form for various ad purposes.
The All Out - Mosquito eating machine is also a good memory, it started with the japanese man beside it trying to emulate it and recently it has Tom & Jerry to give it company. Good going!
Sharekhan - Great usage of a mascot here. For one because its a company that deals with stocks and finance. So it's even more commendable that they pulled off this idea.
Cheers, Niraj
