I'm basing this on current jingles or the ones that have been around during the last 365 days and not the ones that have long gone back into the archives. I'd also like to point out that I dont watch much television so this is based on whatever I've seen. Please feel free to fill me in with your suggestions/thoughts.
One more thing. I wouldnt term this as a TOP TEN or BEST EVER. Its just a few good jingles.(not even ten)
Tata Indicom - the BREATHLESS parody
Its new words plugged into a classic - Shankar Mahadevan's Breathless. Now Breathless is beyond definition so the agency picked the right tune to lift. Its a win-win situation. Saurav Ganguly looks cool on this one. Irfan Pathan is a waste of cash.
Pepsi - the Bubbly jingle
Its a great jingle. Forget the talking navels, forget the tongue at the end that looks like its going through sexual throes. Forget the talking sandwich. The Jingle works. Its on every lip now. Good job.
Liril - The La-i-ra-i-la tune
Its got a certain quality to it. It lingers. Like the soap I guess. The ad has been edited to suit family audiences so its better now.
Ford Fusion - the Hum To Anything Karega track
Its been made into a full fledged song now. Pretty catchy.
Seagrams Royal Stag Mega - the Hey Ya Hey Ya teerara ra raa track
I hope I got that track right:P. Now that alchohol companies cannot advertise the products directly everyone's following the Bacardi trail by releasing music or soda with their branding on it just to stay visible in the public eye. I found this track pretty hummable and Saif is cool. Pretty Decent.
Lifebuoy - Tandurusti Ki Raksha Karta Hai Lifebuoy jingle
Its a cult brand. The tune is well established. The latest ad did away with the words but the tune is familiar. The tune has done the deed. The public remembers.
