Hi
It is a real difficult job to cut down to ten songs.lemme try my best.
I would like to categorize as melodies and western based. Its difficult to compare the 2!
Let me make sure that it is NOT listed in order of prority.
Melodies
1.Anbe Sugama from Paarthale Paravasam
One song which touched my heart was .Just close ur eyes and listen to the soft music!Lovely composition!Hats off to srinivas and sadhana sargam!
2.Uyire from Bombay
I think u ppl know what I want to say about the song.Absolutely superb siging by Hariharan and Chitra! Thanks to ARR for rendering such melodies.
3.Vaseegara from Minnale
Fllute at its best!Music at its best!Bombay Jayshree at her best form! What more would 1 expect?
4.Pacchai Nirame from Alaipayuthey
I dunno y im stuck with hariharan sings but I have no choice(actually I have quite some choice).Credit must also be given to the flutist.i think naveen hu seems to make appearance in most of the songs!
5.I would like to combine Malargale and Ennavale
Somewhat on the same lines(thats wat I feel). The beautiful voices of Unnikrishnan and Chitra! The fusion of wetsern in malargale is an amazing compostion!A series of such songs have been given to the tamil music world.
6.Vennilave from Minsara Kanavu
Back to hariharan.Soothing, soft, heart lightning. Is that enuf?
7.Aalanguyil and Kana Kandenadi
U may think ive been mentioning only ARR and Harris Jeyraj compositions. But no here r some nice numbers from Parthiban KanavuHarini shows her carnatic talent.Evergeen Yesudas(im not sure hus sung this Yesudas or his son(which son I dunno). This remind me of Kanne Kalaimane also.Very pleasing!
Western based
1.Boys
I would not include Ale Ale in it.but amazing fusion!I would rate this whole album.Kartik's voice working wonders in Girlfriend, Maro Maro.Vasundhara Das in Dating, Sa Re Ga Me.Some good western touch with base guitars and technology.
2.Ennai Konjam from Kaakha Kaakha
Something which u would listen to n number of times!Lively voices of Tipu, Shalini and Timmy, nice Saxaphone, and amazing pisturisation has contributed to the reasons for this song being in my playlist.
3.Yakkai Thiri from Ayitha Ezhuthu
The blend between carnatic and technology is visible.rather audible!Raagam suddha dhanyasi(tell me if im wrong)in a different form all together!Josh song and a peppy number!
A special mention to Thikkuruvi from Kangalal Kaidhu Sei(though u cant understand much of it) and Adisaya Tirumanam from Parthaley Paravasam. The male singers in both have created magic in these songs!
