Kumar Sanu is one of the great singer of India of all times. He is the master of melodious and emotional songs. He sung hundreds of great songs mostly during 90s.He was undisputed king of bollywood singing during 1990 to 1995.From 1996 to 1998 he was number one singer of bollywood along with contemporary udit narayan. He was very special during 90s. He was shining like the sun in the bollywood singing sky in the early nineties and mid nineties. Other singers were far behind him.Unfotunately at the end of 90s he began to loose his voice quality. He gave us lot of hit and super hit songs within a very short period .
It is very sad that kumar sanu does not sing in the new bollywood movies much .But he is still very popular singer. His presence is everywhere.His melodious voice is heard in the every corner of india. I live in a small towm near kolkata. Here Sanu' songs are played more frequently than any other modern singers. People do not prefer modern hit songs .
Sanu is critised for his nasal songs. But I think that barring few songs at the end portion of his carrier most of his songs are free of nasal effect and they are crystal clear.
Many have critised that A.R. Raheman does not give chance sanu because he is not good singer. But the fact is that Sanu does not consider A, R, Rahemanan a good music director so he does not sings for his crappy westernised composition. It is raheman' fault that he has not utilised Sanu properly.
Many people has critised that Sanu did not survive long as a dominant singer in the bollwood like udit narayan. I want to say that Sanu has given us so much great songs within 5-6 years that udit does not able to deliver us so many great songs in his whole carrier.From 1990 to 1995 almost every songs of Sanu was hit. No other singer has been able to give us so many hit songs within a such small period. Sanu is the fastest singer in the industry. He can be comparable with a batsman who scores 300 runs out of 200 balls where as udit narayan is like a batsman who scores 200 runs out of 300 balls. During 1990 to 1995 era sanu' voice was unchallenged. Udit could not defeat his voice during that era.But Udit narayan is also a great singer, I like his song very much.
Both Sanu and Udit will remain in the heart of millions of music lovers for ever.
