10 BesT of KumaR SanU(In mY OpinioN). Review on Ten Best Songs of Kumar Sanu

Having written a rvu on Sonu Nigam’s 20 best songs I am now writing my choices of Kumar Sanu’s 10 best songs (In my opinion). Many songs in my list u might not have heard but I find them very good to hear. So here is my list for 10 best songs of Kumar Sanu after one paragraph:

Kumar Sanu made it big after singing all the songs of Mahesh Bhatt’s “Aashiqui”. He has been singing since 1989 till date (although now I hear his voice in new movie songs very less). He has sang over 1000 songs in different languages and he also holds the record for singing most number of songs in one day (28 if I m right). So let’s get on with the list now:

1.Jab kisi ki taraf dil-(Pyar to Hona hi Tha)-Jatin Lalit

This is my all time favorite. Jatin Lalit although have copied (no they were “inspired”) the start of the song i.e. the guitar music from Bryan Adams “Have u really loved a women” but then they have composed their own music. Excellent slow song sung by Kumar Sanu. This is a song which tells the symptoms of a person has fallen in love. Excellent lyrics and gr8 song. The song is picturised on my favorite actor Ajay Devgan and Kajol.

2.Tum mile dil khile-(Criminal)-M.M.Kreem

This is the song which is the best in the whole soundtrack of Criminal. It comes thrice in the album and is a superb song. Sang on a high note by Kumar and some excellent music and female background voice makes this song really soulful to hear. Well the female background singing has also been “inspired” from a song of Enigma but it’s still good to hear. Anyway I m not hear to tell what song has been copied from whom but the fact is it is really well sung by Kumar Sanu and his voice makes a difference in this song. The song is picturised on Nagarjuna and Manisha Koirala.

3.Ab tere bin ji lenge hum-(Aashiqui)-Nadeem Shravan

My favorite Kumar Sanu sad song. I must say I like sad songs much now. Anyway this is a fast paced sad song from the movie “Aashiqui”. This song is sung by Kumar Sanu as if he speaks his heart out (I wonder howcome these singers sing at their best when they are singing sad songs). Music by Nadeem Shravan is also too good. The song is picturised on Rahul (goldie locks-remember the craze for his unique hair istyle!!) Roy and Anu (Lambu) Agrawal-both one film wonders.

4.Jab koi bigad jaaye-(Jurm)-Rajesh Roshan

Fantastic—that’s the word that would describe this song. A beautiful romantic number with excellent lyrics and gr8 music by Rajesh Roshan and some really good singing Kumar Sanu and (I think it was) Sadhna Sargam have really made this song a gr8 romantic number. The song is picturised on handsome Vinod Khanna and Meenaxi Shehsadri.

5.Tujhe dekha to ye jaana sanam-(DDLJ)-Jatin Lalit

Well I don’t think I should say why I like this song. I m sure all of u have heard the song and love it just as I do. Another romantic number with beautiful lyrics and good music as well. The song is picturised on SRK and Kajol.

6.Ae Kash ke hum hosh main-(Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa)-Jatin Lalit

My favorite song from my favorite movie of SRK--KHKN. Some gr8 work by Jatin Lalit and excellent solo singing by Kumar Sanu makes this song really good to hear each time. Its again a romantic song wherein the lover is with her love in a dream and doesn’t really come out of that dream. I must say the Jatin-Lalit and Kumar Sanu combo. have really made some good songs nice to hear. The song is picturised on SRK and Suchitra Krishnamurthy

7.Pehle kabhi na hamne kaha-(Hum aapke dil mein rehte hai)-Anu Malik

I think u might not have heard this song and if u heard it u might not have liked it considering it an average song but I just love this long. The music by Anu Malik is fantastic and it starts with a romantic tune and then Kumar Sanu sings at his best. Yet another romantic song by Kumar Sanu and is well supported by female lead Anuradha Paudwal. The song comes in parts in the movie and is picturised on Anil Kapoor and Kajol.

8.Main bewafa-(Pyar Ishq aur Mohabbat)-Viju Shah

I don’t know why I like this song but I listen it twice everytime my Winamp plays it. A fast paced sad song with some different music at the start by Viju Shah and then well co-ordinated by Kumar Sanu. The best part of this song are its lyrics where in the lover confesses that he has hurt his girl friend and to sing it we have Kumar Sanu who plays his part well. The song is picturised on Arjun Rampal. If u happen to hear this song check out the flute music in the middle of the song.

9.Sun sun sun barsaat ki dhun-(Sir)- Anu Malik

This is normal casual song nice to hear when it is raining. Some nice guitar work by Anu Malik and as usual great singing by Kumar Sanu and female lead Alka Yagnik make this song nice to hear. The song is picturised on Atul Agnihotri and Pooja Bhatt.

10.Dil mera churaya kyoon-(Akele Hum Akele Tum)-Anu Malik

Another sad song with nice lyrics and nice music by Anu Malik. Now I have to say even Anu Malik and Kumar Sanu combo. have done really well in giving good songs. Some of their other nearly best songs are from Phir teri Kahaani Yaad Aayi - tere dar par sanam. Anyway in this song we have English lyrics as well (well not lyrics completely-its just one line in background) and they have been sung by our own Anu Malik himself which is ok to hear. But the best is sung by Kumar Sanu. The song has a very nostalgic feeling attached to it and it is picturised on Aamir Khan when he misses his wife Manisha Koirala (in the movie)

With this I conclude my rvu on my list of 10 best songs of Kumar Sanu. I must also say that he has really sung some songs with some really stupid lyrics like Gale mein lal tie or say Sarkalyo Khatiya but then he is a good singer.
