Hi guys,

Hari Ji is one phenomenal artiste who inspires me every day, every moment. I dunno what is that magic in his voice which exactly relates to ur state of mind. I wish to just add a few songs to Suresh's well compiled list.

Udhaya udhaya. This is one song which is like extremely close to my heart. A R Rahman has once again made a song which only Hari ji can do justice. Based vaguley on raag charukishi. this song is easly one of the best renditions of Hari ji. Those fast paced brighas in the verse leaves the lsitener spellbound. Awesome!

Hai Rama yeh kya hua. Look at the versatililty of the great maestro. The nuances of raag panthuvarali/kamavardhini is evident in every single note of this song. the surrealistic abstract'piya samjhaaoon samjhat naahi.' in the beginning adds that incomparable class to the song. The intended sensuality of the song is implemented in an inimitable style, which only Hari ji possessed. Hats off to you Sir!

Anbe anbe nee en pillai. Suresh has aptly referred to this song. but I felt I should add a couple of lines more on to that. This is from an extremely forgettable movie called Uyirodu Uyiraaga. So not many know about this song. This song has touches of Raag keeravani. I can go on and on about this song guys. when I listen to the second interlude where hari ji and chithra sing an alternating alaap. I lterally experience bliss! the alaaap is so enticing that you cannot but listen to it again and again., . then there comes the small but impeccable improvisation on the line'Yaarum sollaaamalum oasai illaamalum.' Only a person with tremendous amount of improvising skills can think about such an impromptu embellishment. Those who havent heard this number. u havent heard hari ji at his best! I have to say this. Composer Vidyasagar will be thanking his stars now. he has come up with a lot of mass numbers like vaadi vaadi, kappakezhange, dhool etc. but This master of melody was left un noticed for ages together in Tamil music when he gifted the tamil music scene with in comparable melodies like this one, malare mounama. etc. May be it had something to do with the movies he had given those songs. I am saying this becoz VidyaSagar hasnt seen a flop in Malayalam music ever since he debuted with the movie Azhakiya Ravanan.

Sakala Kala vallavane. I am still surpriced at the fact that Deva could actually compose a song which is as good as this one. Who else can do justice to this song other than hari ji! Listen to the fast paced swaras that he sings during the second interlude. marvellous! then the last line of the song.'ennai poovukkul neee poottum.' he adds an unreproducable embellishment which leaves the lsitener craving for more. stupendous!

Sutrum Vizhi chudar. Bharatiyar if he was alive would be feeling overjoyed. No one ever would have made this poem of his sound as good as this one does. I have had an overdoze of this one rendered by the carnatic musicians of the country in the most carnartized fashion which just about helps the listener to find ways of forgetting this marvellous poem. Thats when the whizkid joined hands with the maestro to give a much delayed face lift to this piece. The result is infront of u. every 2 lines of the song is in a different raag. it has bihag, vasanta, yaman. what a treat. What chord backing! U cant ask for more!

Please do comment on what you think about these songs.
