I am doing my review on the 10 most “Unforgettable” scenes in Hindi films…. The illustration will show that, once you see these scenes, you can never forget them, no matter how much you try them.

10. Aandhiyaan

This is the great comeback film of the star of seventies: Mumtaaz. The glamour girl made a come back as a mother.

Rich boy falls in love with poor girl…. Boy’s father plays villain and the poor girl is heart broken…. Now 18 years after, her son wants to take revenge… How innovative!!! I don’t know how our Bollywood writers manage to write so nice stories….

The Scene in question (I mean unforgettable scene… sigh!!) is where our hero (Prasanjit Chatterjee, who could have played the heroine as well) takes his grandfather on a car drive on his new car and in the process totally smashes the car on the way… (hey… don’t tell me u saw it in some Amitabh Movie…. How does it matter any way?)… In this entire fast drive scene, the director shows us whole of Delhi… from Qutub Minar to India Gate and also a drive along the beach!!

Wow director saab…. Humko Delhi mein sea shore dikhaa diyee… Aap Mahaan Hai!!!

9. AAA

Well.. the Scene here is where our three heroes (Amar, Akbar and Anthony) have gone to the rescue of the damsel in distress in disguise…. The disguises were so nice that Amar clearly looks like Vinod Khanna, Akbar somewhat like Rishi Kapoor and Anthony stands out like Amitabh…. Well, these were disguises right?

And they start singing all of a sudden like pangs of fits attacked them. Honi ko anhonee karde…. Amar.. Akbar, Anthony…. Our poor villains, they can not recognize them even after they tell their names.

Wow, how thoughtful of the writers!!

8. K3G

We all know, we must show respect to the national anthem and stand up to it… well, so did the Brits. See, how much prestige did Karan Johar gave to our national anthem? What if the kids caughs in the anthem… well, he is human after all… what if it makes people laugh more than being serious…. Movies are made for entertainment after all… and see, even the Britts stood up like a herd of sheep following the leader when the kid starts singing.

That’s Bollywood for you….

7. Mohabbatein

Now we have a couple (I find it difficult to make out who was the hero and who was the heroine between Kim Sharma and Jugal Hansraj). Now the lady in question does not care about what she wears, which shows more than it hides…. Then comes a situation, when she falls into a swimming pool and gets embarrassed (don’t know why…) and our man (if we can call him that) takes her away…. Once alone on the road, she says in the most memorable (see… I don’t have adjective) voice…. “Sameer… mujhe aapni baahon mein le lo….”

What emotion… what dialogue delivery…. It deserved an Oscar…. (I feel like drowning in the same swimming pool when I see this scene)

6. Border (Sunny)

This is the most memorable scene where it is shown how brave we Indians are and how cowards are the people on other side of the border…

Our head of the army unit on border, walks up to the open fence and stands there with his chest exposed… and guess what…. Not a single Paki soldier fires at him…. You know why? We are brave and they are not….. wow… kya scene hai…. Talk of pulp patriotism.

5. Gaddar

The story goes back some 5 decades, but it’s the same people on both side of the border and this time our Mr. Tara Singh is alone in Pakistan where he has so many enemies…. And as you can guess…. One scream and some heroic actions from him are good enough to make a whole herd of people to get scared and run away…. Excellent idea…. It was supported by so many whistles and cheers from the movie crowd… wow!!

4. (Forgotten the movie name, Pran is there in an important Role)

It was a murder mystery. I have forgotten the movie, but The Scene is not forgettable.

While the villain is killing the lady (not sure if heroine) someone has taken a photo and that photo is produced in the court. Unfortunately that photo is taken from the wrong angle. You can see the villain’s back and the heroine’s face. Guess what they did?

Well.. only a creative writer can think about it…

They enlarge the photo and the reflection of the villain’s face on the lady’s eyes are blown up to get a life size photo and YES… we see who the killer is!!!

Wow… what creativity… move over Agatha Christie… you can never be this creative…

3. Judwaa

The story of one unbearable actor in two roles….

Well… it’s the last scene…. Prem does what Raja does by default. Raja is a tapori and Prem is a gentleman… so in the last scene, when the Tapori is locked up with Rangeela (your own Thakti Kapoor), Prem has to fight the bad men…. So our Rangeel Bhai has an idea….. “Raja.. tu mujhe maal.. tu mujhe malega to wo unko maalegaa…” and our man goes on beating the hell out of Tutlaataa Thakthi Kapoor, and as a result Prem beats the others.

Arre yaar… agar Raja ko maarna hi thaa… he could have simply hit the air right? Why make the poor Thakti Kapoor the scape goat?

2. Main Hoon Naa

Matrix is child’s play in front of this scene… What great did the matrix people do? Either all the actors fought in fast motion or all fought in slow motion… But Mein Hoon Naa was much ahead.

Shahrukh is hit by Sunil Shetty and he falls in a slow motion. That gives Sunil (who is in fast motion) enough time to turn around and hit the falling hero, to fall in a fast motion. Excellent imagination…. I think Newton can hide his law of gravity once he sees this movie. A real scientific break through.

1. Prem Shastra

Now for the winner… as the most memorable movie and the most memorable scene…

This movie is about a complex love story. So pay attention.

Our hero gets the heroine (Zeenat) home and introduces her to his wife (Bindu). And in the process he realizes that, the lady whom he is loving (i.e. Zeenat) is his wife’s daughter from a previous affair, thus making her equivalent to his own daughter!!

That’s all?…. Definitely NO.

Then comes one more revelation…. The father of Zeenat is none other than our Hero’s own father…. That makes her his sister and his wife his own mother!!!!

So what is the lkink between the hero and the heroine? Lover? Daughter? Sister?

I don’t want to answer that….. too complex for my poor mind.

No prizes for guessing who the hero was…. Who else, other than the evergreen hero Dev Anand???

All these beautiful and imaginative scenes have left me totally spellbound. Really unforgettable scenes….
