I tried to find if there were some reviews regarding this topic, but I was really too surprised to find none. Why did nobody wish to write on the best picturised songs of Bollywood?! Don't we have so many of them.!

According to those who are not aware of the Bollywood movies, rather have some misconception about them, a Hindi movie is just dance and song. But, it is not. The songs are not just for the sake of dances, but they do have importance in the movie. They are placed to have an effect on the minds of the audience.

~REQUIREMENTS~

Well, first let us glance on the strengths or the requirements, of a song which make it deserving to be called as'the best picturised song'!

  1. Music: It is the music on which the song is based, if the music is appealing, it certainly adds to its audio appeal, and hence, enhances the overall quality of  the song.

  2. Choreography: According to me, the choreography is yet another important aspect. A good dance can lift the entire song, or if the dances are not so good, a song with a good audio appeal can fall weak due to lack of visual attraction. However, there are certain songs which do not have more of dance, yet the impact is amazing.

  3. Looks: Under this section, I include the costumes of the dancer(s) and all those who take part in the song, the sets and the location, the camera effects and the technical strengths and weaknesses of a song.

After a song passes these three phases, its quality improves and enhances. The songs which I have selected here, have proved themselves in all these three fields.

A film song is the manifestation of the richness of Indian culture and performing arts. All those beautiful songs show how rich and varied our culture is.

NOTE: I haven't seen more of the old movies and so, I am really sorry if I miss out any beautiful old Hindi song, which has a great art value.

The countdown begins:

  1. Raste Raste Tujhe Dhoondata hoon kahin(Road)

A hardcore song with a thumping sound, and extremely beautiful choreography. Vivek Oberoi and Antara Mali have danced really well on this song. Though the dance may seem weird, try it out at home! I bet the dance is not easy at all. The camera moves very close to the surface of a road, with Vivek Oberoi sitting on it, is the best part of the song!

  1. Pyaar ki kashti mein(Kaho na.Pyaar Hai)

The film launched the hot star, Hritik Roshan, and this song in particular is extremely wonderful. Equally beautiful are the dance steps, and the way all the dancers have danced, equally beautiful are Amisha's'latka-jhatkaa's, but what really is beautiful is the way camera whirls around the dancers, who are in a ship. It is really very beautiful(and somewhat frightening.!) to see the camera moving round and round, catching sight of the sea, and then cutting to Amisha and Hritik!

08.Sharaaraa sharaaraa.(Mere Yaar ki shaadi hai)

No comments about the movie, but hands up to this lovely song! It is a fast paced number picturised on Shamita Shetty who looks gorgeous in that black dress she has worn here. The set of this song and the choreography are the two strengths. Just look at the four pillars at the corners with the golden bands flying up in the air! And the'zoom in-zoom out-zoom in' effect when Miss. Shetty says'Sharaaraa'!(Oh, my heart is pumping harder!)

07.Kambakht Ishq(Pyaar tune kya kiya)

Just as the music and the beats of this song are wonderful, equally wonderful is the picturisation. The ancient and the'old-looking' tall structures is the location of this song. Look at Fardeen Khan standing in the centre and holding all those long red bands, and he lets them go off. the song starts. The song has amazing choreography, which has enabled both Urmila and Fardin to give a mindblowing performance in the song, as they have in the film!

  1. Humko humi se chura lo.(Mohabbatein)

The song has  the touch of a'typical Yash Chopra film', which makes it mandatory(Well, this word is quite harsh, but can't help it) for the song to be beautiful! The song is set in beautiful lawns, mountains and valleys of Switzerland, and picturised on. ohh! I'll not name all of them cos it will finish off the space given to me! But, the song has also been given a touch of'comedy', believe it or not! That makes this song really cute and lovable. And of course, the magic of Shahrukh Khan definitely adds to the beauty of the song!

  1. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.(Kuch Kuch Hota Hai)

Three stars forming a triangle, Shahrukh running through a lushgreen terrain and hugging Rani, and Kajol standing all alone on a rock with her hands stretched out.! So beautiful! This song had all the emotions of the film. A highly romantic song, with great locations and great choreography! AMAZING!

  1. Suraj Hua Maddham(K3G)

WOW! I cannot think of any other word to describe this song. The song has been shot at Egypt, near the Pyramids of Gesa and a place called White Desert. Shahrukh - Kajol, they both look so beautiful in the song! The song proved once again that their magic will never ever go down. It is really one of the best picturised songs, in the true sense of the word!

03.Pyaar Kiya To darna Kya.(Mughal-e-Azam)

This was the first song in the history of indian cinema to be in'coloured print', a special'kaanchmahal'(as I am told) was erected for the song. This makes the song really trendsetting. And just look at the dance. ohh, woww!

  1. Tadap Tadap.(Hum dil de chuke sanam)

Tragedy, the sorrow of parting, is the soul of this song. Aishwarya Rai's dupatta is getting burnt by the'jhoomar' and yet, she is running, running towards Salman. The song really leaves shivers on your skin. It really leaves you with a feeling of shock, a feeling of sorrow. And especially, Salman'statuing' Aishwarya, and the whole environment freezing up, brings tears to your eyes! Look at the emotion that creeps into it!

And now, the time for the best picturised song.

  1. Kaahe Chhed Mohe.(Devdas)

Haye! The lavish set, the glittering mirrors all over, and the extremely gorgeous Madhuri Dixit who has displayed such a beautiful talent of Kathak. Wow! I could see that while Madhuri dancing with a lamp in her hand(Thats why I wish I were a lamp.!), we also had five to six dancers dancing at the faar background. so much detailing is never seen before! And three cheers to Madhuri's dance, she really steals the song and the film too!I love to see the view from the top when Madhuri goes round and round!

(Hey guys, MAdhuri has a baby boy! Congrats, Mrs. Nene!)The dance, the sets, the camera effects, the music, the song excels in all respects.!

Well,

These are the best picturised songs, according to me! If I have missed out any, pls excuse me. yet, I am sure most of you will agree with my choice!
