15th August 1947 ….the golden day in the history of India! The day when the great freedom soldiers, the nationalist leaders gave our presented our country the “ultimate” gift of freedom… and today, 59 years later…this day still holds a very very very special part in the lives of all Indians…. May be some of us don’t believe in exhibiting this feeling of patriotism and thus, they confine these feelings to themselves only…. Whatever it is….the fact remains that all of us have immense amount of love and respect for our country… our day to day activities may not leave much time for us to think about how great our country is, or how much our country means to us…. But there are these special occasions, like Independence Day, Republic Day…..etc. which makes us feel all the more patriotic…. Not that patriotism is only confined to these days, ….just that these days just give us a chance to show-case or potray our feelings for our nation….

This song can actually move you…. And leave behind a rather “sweet” feeling… a real peaceful song!

Patriotism at its “senti-est”…is all I can say about this one… its known to everyone that when Lata Mangeshkar sung this song, it really had Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in tears, but even after 59th years of freedom, you hear this song, …and your soul is bound to be shaken and stirred… its perhaps one of the greatest songs which is dedicated to our soldiers and jawaans… each and every line of this beautiful song depicts the pain and agony our soldiers have to go through while fighting at the border…. A masterpiece…this!
Vande Mataram….Rehmaan version
talking about the most patriotic songs, you just cannot miss this…. Everything about this song, …its lyrics, its soothing music, the powerful voice of Rehmaan…. And the breath-taking locales shown in the video of this song…. Carries the message of patriotism… Rehmaan has done an amazing job in this song… its marvelously sung and can charge you up completely….a perfect ode to freedom…

this song, from the movie, Sarfarosh….has been beautifully sung by Sonu Nigam, and the energy, the enthusiasm, the desperation of this song, …is almost infectios…. You just fall in love with this song…. Just like Vande Mataram…this song too, boasts of a powerful performance, ….and is indeed a great way to show how we are ever ready to sacrifice all our joys for our country….

I have only heard the “shaheed bhagat singh(ajay devgan)”… version of this song, and not the original number…. But then, so what….with lyrics like this, a tune like this…. This song….(irrespective of which version you’re talking about)….is simply awesome! It represents the zeal, the love and the enthusiasm our soldiers have while fighting for our nation… a great song….and yes, … Sonu Nigam is simply superb in the bhagat singh version… great song…

A great song from a great movie! This song boasts of some amazing music and ofcourse the lyrics of this song….brings in that feeling of belonging almost instantly…a perfect way to showcase your gratitude, and your love and your “apna-pan” towards your nation…. Soothing track….
