Helloooo MSians!
The first statement that I feel like writing in this review is'I am truly, madly and deeply proud of being an INDIAN' despite the fact that my very existence on this land elevates its decades' old problem of population explosion but sadly enough I dont intend to make any contributions trying to reduce her billion plus myriad by suiciding.
Let me not waste much of your precious time blabbering(i am garrulous) stuff about things that don't relate to the topic. So here goes my list of 5 favourite patriotic songs:
1)'Ae mere watan ke logon.'-Lata Mangeshkar
In this age of westernisation, the brave deeds of the martyrs that laid down their lives fearlessly for the sake of their countrymen, are eventually getting wiped off our brains. This song was sung during the 1968 Indo-China war by none other than the harmony legend Lata Mangeshkar. The lyrics is so very soul-piercing that each time I listen to it, my eyes get filled with tears along with a painful happines of the freedom that I enjoy today. Here go some of the most touchy lines:
'Ae mere watan ke logon
Zara aankh mein bhar lo paani
Jo shaheed hue hain unki
Zara yaad karo qurbani
Jab ghayal hua himalay
Khatre mein padi azaadi
Jab tak thi saans lade wo
Fir apni jaan gawai
Jab anth samay aya to.
Tum bhool na jao unko.'
Gosh, its so difficult so stop.
2)'Dil diya hai.'-Kavita Krishnamurthy
This song is from one of the super, duper, bumper patriotic hits of Indian cinema starring Nootan, Yusuf Khan(alias Dillip Kumar), Anil Kapoor and others.
This is also one of my all time favz out of the patriotic list too.
Here are some of the lines I would like to sing for you-
'Dil diya hai
Jaan bhi denge
Ae watan tere liye.'
Anything for INDIA, no matter how coarse a voice I have(hey people I was singing!)
3)'Time for love.'-Ronan Keating
Well this isn't specifically a patriotic song but some of the lyric has hard-core patriotism expressed in it.Check it out sometime and believe me you won't regret. The song has been sung beautifully by Ronan Keating(his voice is just too setive).
Here are some lines I would specify regarding the present situtuation of Indo-Pak ties(more precisely estrangements):
'We've got time to climb a mountain
The time to build a wall
By the time we finally build it
The wall has already fallen
We've got time to cross the oceans
The time to fight a war
By the time we finish fighting
We forgot what we were dying for
So many good have lost their lives
Why can't we put away the knives
And find the time for love
We need the time for us.yeah'
4)'Modern Crusaders alive'-Enigma
This, as per my interpretation from the lyrics(I haven't had the opportunity yet to see the video), is a youth empowerment song.Since, the youth of today would either make or break a nation, from this aspect I decided to include it in my fav list. The lyrics has a sense of challenge, enthusiasm, encouragement, boldness.woops!do I have to go on an adjectives errand?
'Stand up
Join us
Modern crusaders alive.
We got the power
To face the future.
We're not submissive
We're not aggressive.'
5)'Mera mulk mera desh.'-Kumar Sanu
This is a veryyy sweet patriotic song and I am sure every school or college going student must be knowing the song by heart(I do but only the first 2-3 lines poor memory u c.hehehe).The song is from the movie Diljale starring Ajay Devgan, Sonali Bendre, Amrish Puri.
'Mera mulk mera desh mera ye watan
Shaanti ka unnati ka mera ye chaman
Iske vaaste nisar hai.mera tan.mera mann.
Ae watan ae watan ae watan.
Jaaneman jaaneman jaaneman.'
wooaaannnn.(was trying to cry literally).I still have two more favz.but 5!Please dont mind I am tempted to list 2 more.
a)'Chale chalo'.Lagaan
b)'Hat jaa'.Yuva
Really exhilerating.Just check them out sometime if you haven't heard of them yet.Hey people, please post in your fav patriotic list too.I would louuuu to know about them and please do not forget to pass comments(hehe.just kidding all you decent lot).
