Warning - This is Going to be an extra extra long review. So read it with patience.

Well, I always look at the funnier(and darker) side of life and everything that comes with the package known as life. But I have always taken one thing seriously - GAMES. Games to me have been serious fun. My affair with PC games started when I was in the fourth grade and I first played Prince. It has been 10 years since then and our affair has only grown stronger with time. You want to become my sworn enemy for life, just say something like “Gamers suck”, “Games are for sissies”, ” Gamers are nerds and geeks” and you will have an enmity which you will take to your grave. So this one time, my review is going to be all serious and maybe even boring to someone of you, interesting and engrossing to those who know their games and for those who have a blank look when any of their friends talk about games, this one is surely going to educate you. So, without any more of my rambling, let me present to you, PsYcHeLoCk’S TeN MoSt PsYcHoTiC GaMeS(in no particular order)

1) Max Payne - Max Payne was a game developed by Remedy and produced by 3Drealms who gave us the legendary game ’’Duke Nukem’’. Word is that Duke Nukem Forever should be released by next year. With the revolutionary ’’ BULLET TIME Max Payne is probably the most graphically excellent game ever created. You cannot but remember the movie ’’Matrix’’ when you play this game. Definitely not your Normal story for your regular shooting game here. No Aliens, no military, no screwed up experiments opening a portal to hell. You are Max Payne, a cop in New York. You come home to see your wife and baby killed by two people who are high on a new drug called Valkyr. Max is depressed and goes undercover as a cop and then following a call by his best friend, Alex, at the Police Station he goes to a subway and from there start a series of events which lead him to a Mafia don with big plans and also leads him to the mastermind behind his family’s massacre. Now let us get to this bullet time feature. This is probably the selling point of the game. The concept here is simple. When you activate the bullet time feature, everything around you goes is slow motion, except the shooing of your bullets. Your bullets fire at the normal pace. When you can activate this you can even dodge enemy bullets A.K.A The Matrix. Get my drift? You can even see the bullets whizzing by. So if you don’t want to buy the game, as it is a third person shooter, buy it only for the bullet time feature. This feature is the most amazing and beautiful. So just go and get this game. This is number one on my list for a long time!

2) Grand Theft Auto III - Driving, adventure and a heavy does of violence and gore come together, perfectly balanced for your hidden, menacing side in this game byRockstar Productions. With its unique perspective, Grand Theft Auto III(GTA III) puts you right in the middle of harm’s way while you peddle drugs and kidnap your way to mo’ money. The blatantly offensive title has taken a huge step by offering a fully 3D street experience to become one of the best action games yet to arrive for the PC platform. Another first time highlight in this “three-quel” is a fast paced story line with twists and turns you would expect from a Pacino flick. This was awarded the game of the year. This Rockstar production has become a huge hit, first with the Playstation 2 version and now the PC version. The concept of the game is rather simple. Get into any car you wish and do pretty much do anything you want to do. Yep, you heard me right, anything you want to! Kick some asss or bust some cars or do some insane stunts on your car or kill some people or take people from one place to another to collect fare. But to get ahead in the game you have to do missions or'jobs' as I prefer to call it. These missions are given to you be the heads of the various gangs operating in the city. And I should say that these names are pretty nifty like the'triad', 'forrelis', 'yakuza' etc. This game has everything an avid gamer would like, i.e., violence, guns, cars, slapstick humour and the likes. With GTA III, you don’t have to worry about wetting your pants after getting busted for a hit. So go ahead and get ready for the ride of your life.

3) Black and White -Computer Gaming World called it a one of the five games that will change gaming forever. The Question now is was all this praise deserved for this game. Yes, the game is worth all that praises and much more. It is very original, engrossing, memorable and sometimes moving. The things that make B&W special are not easy to imitate. The game’s originality lies not in its graphical presentation(which is stunning) or the new kind of gameplay, but in its dramatic qualities.B&W casts you as a new god called into existence by the prayers of a tribe in a place called Eden. A couple, seeing their son about to be eaten by sharks, look up to the sky and call for help. When you save the child from his death, they promise to worship you forever. They also take you to their village where the people there become your disciples. The worship of your disciples gives you belief and power. As you explore the land you begin to realize the extent of your power. Your mission is to spread word of your power as far as possible, increasing your sphere of influence which is marked by red curtain. But there are other gods to compete with! They too wish to increase their power. So you have to protect your land and attack their land. At this point you may be thinking that this is your usual city-building, tribe management kind of game. It would have been if not for the moral conundrums you have to face in the game and the creature you get. The game gives you an emissary, a giant animal pet whom you can train to your bidding. This is where the experience begins. You are asked to choose from three creatures- a cow, a tiger or an ape. Wide-eyed and innocent, your creature will loaf in his pen outside the temple(the source of your power) or wander around the land, experimentally gobbling up little villagers. It is to you to show him right from wrong. This game is a classic by all means. A screaming wife called out to me and asked me to save her husband some other men from drowning. I saved as many I could, but her husband had drowned. She said. ’’I understand; you did as much as you could’’. It sent a chill down my spine. When was the last time a game did that for you.
