Difficult to pick just a few. Review on Ten Best Malayalam Songs

I am a Tamilian and can only understand Malayalam to an extent, but have always been drawn to Malayalam songs, especially the melodious numbers. I shall try and pick my favourites from the 80s and early 90s(my knowledge of malayalam songs is mostly limited to that time period). The songs are in no particular order:1. Onnam Raagam Paadi from Thoovanathubikal- This is one of my all time favourites. So beautifully sung by Venugopal and Chitra. 2. Ponveene Ennulil from Thalavattom- Great singing by Sreekumar and Chitra. One of the sweetest songs I have ever heard!3. Pavizhampol Pavizhatharampol from Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thopukkal- A beatiful number in a love classic(another Padmarajan movie). Great music by Johnson and great singing by KJY.  4. Paadam Pootha Kaalam from Chithram- Great song. 5. Poovarambin Thaazhe from Vidyarambam. Sung so masterfully by Chithra. . 6. Poothalam from Kalikaalam- Another Chithra song that I cannot omit from my top picks. Very very sweet song. 7. Pathira Paalkadavil from Chenkol- I like Sujatha's voice so much, but in this song, KJY simply seems to dominate with his majestic voice. This is such a beautiful melody from the great Johnson.8. Kaikudanna Niraiye from Mayamayooram-

Another beauty from Johnson. So beautifully sung by KJY and Janaki.9. Doore Doore Sagaram from Varavelppu- I like Chithra's version better than KJY's. So sweet! 10. Naada Nee Varu from Chamaram- One of my favourite Janaki songs in Malayalam(apart from Thumbivaa, Ennittam Nee, Mizhiyoram, Aadi vaa Kaatte and so many more)Sorry, I am unable to stop with just ten. Let me go on and add another ten.11. Vaishaka Sandhye from Nadodikattu- What a great melody. The same song was made in Tamil as well(in the movie Kathanayagan), but did not have the same effect.12. Ambalapuzha from Advaidam- One of the best melodious songs from Malayalam. 13. Pramada Vanam from His Highness Abdullah- Perhaps the most difficult song to sing. Amazing composition. 14. Kallayi Kadavathu from Perumazhakaalam- This is a more recent song, but I have to include Jayachandran while discussing top melodious songs. A beautiful number that he sang with Sujatha. 15. Pathiramazha Etho from Ulladakkam- Another great KJY song.16. Kannukalil Poo Viriyum from Shesham Kazhchaiyil- Excellent music and singing. 17. Kanumbol Parayamo from Ishtam- I included this song because I love the way KJY and Chitra have sung this song. 18. Anuragini from Oru Kudakeezhil by KJY. Johnson classic!

I like this as much as the similar "Azhage Azhagu" from the tamil movie Raja Paarvai.19. Mayangi Poyi from Nottam- this is among the few recent songs that I like. I simply love the way Chitra has sung this song.20. Neela Venalil from Kilukkam- Fantastic song from a fantastic movie. I have obviously been unable to include so many more. I might hear some other song tomorrow and think I should have included that as well! So, the above is only a list of some good songs, definitely not the top 20.
