TEN MUST-HAVE ALBUMS OF 2004!

I will bluntly say, that I disagree with other fellow MSians who wrote about the top ten songs of 2004. I don't understand how did the music of Nadeem-Shravan, Pritam, Reshammiya and others topped the list of this year?!?!?!? ARGH. I apologize to cool_tanmay and the others - I love reading your reviews, but this one really pissed me off.

Where are the people are going to understand the quality of music? Go ahead, criticize me and say comment some childish things to me. But seriously, you all should know better.

It seems to me that the commercialized filmi songs have became a hit because of its stardom, or director or whatever the crap was.

MUSIC LOVERS! If you wanna own the best of 2004 read on and I will tell you why these ALBUMS of 2004 are so worth in your collection!

1. Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities - Music by A.R. Rahman

Reason: Main reason is Sonu Nigam's'Do Kadam', but there is also the everlasting lyrics, the instrumentals, the uniqueness of orchestration and the variety of singers(especially Asha Bhosle in'Dhuan Dhuan'). GET IT NOW, OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!

2. Chameli - Music by Sandesh Sandilya

Reason: You want great music? Then own this!'Bhaage Re Mann' so amazing, and I love the style of jazz and soft rock music used in this album along with tablas and guitars. All the songs are great, and I didn't mind Sunidhi Chauhan's voice in this album.

3. Yuva - Music by A.R. Rahman

Reason: A.R. Rahman of course! Call me biased but I don't give a damn. Ever you heard techno music that is not loud and out of tune?!?! Of course not! Cause no indian director has done that! But A.R. Rahman, man, no one can beat him. He is the ultimate maestro in Hindi music. All the songs are youthfully amazing. I loved hearing the youngsters singing out with their pride.

4. Kyun! Ho Gaya Na. - Music by Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy

Reason: Aao Na. nothing else. Plus Sadhna Sargam's voice in this number. Other songs are great to listen to. If it weren't for the awful picturizations and the couple then you wouldn't be disturbed listening to the other songs.

5. Rog - Music by M.M. Kreem

Reason: M.M. Kreem no doubt can make the best sober and soft music. Especially with the realistic lyrics and haunting tunes.'Maine Dil Se Kaha' by K.K. made me listen to this album more, and this album is totally worth it because of its anti-hyped music from other newly released albums.

6. Fida - Music by Anu Malik

Reason:'Maine Jisko Chaha.' Hearing Alisha Chinoy versatile voice and Sonu Nigam has really blew me away. Although I believe this is not the music of Anu Malik, but of Ranjit Barot. Go ahead and listen to the drum fills in this song! Hey who knows. This album is way better than Main Hoon Na, because of the different rock style used along with using 60s and 70s style of music. Rumours is that'Nazar Nazar' is a copy of an old Pakistani hit. All of the songs are worth in the collection.

7. Musafir - Music by Vishal - Shehkar

Reason:'Saaki' - The powerful drums beats with Singh's voice and Sunidhi's passion, 'Door Se Paas' - K.K.'s amazing techno voice(obviously computerized), 'Phir Na Kehna' - a surprise soft romantic number coming from a dance album, and beautifully sung by Kumar Sanu and'Rabba' the best track in the album. Other songs are good also but the ones I have mentioned above the best.

8. Swades - Music by A.R. Rahman

Reason:'Yeh Tara Woh Tara' and'Ahista Ahista'. The only cons are that Udit Narayan is sounding too old now and his voice is now bleak and broken.

Since it is not the end of 2004. There are still more to come. I will add the two later on.

Comments on this review will be appreciated. Good or bad comments. I don't care. I wanna hear what you fellows think! Don't be afraid! Say what you wanna say! And nooo. Beer-Paara, Vaar-Zeera or Veer-Zaara music is not in it because the original Madan Mohan music in the old times are 100 times better. His son ruined his work!

MUUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!
