Do Bigha Zameen:

Directed by V. Shanta Ram and Hrishikesh Mukherji. I don't know the date of release etc. But this was among the most touching movies, after the independence of India, made in the light of Socialist fever in the country, and the concept of poor and rich. The movie tells clearly that if one thinks that if he is pretty happy with making money not caring about the surrounding, he is the most foolish social animal.

The movie reasons and foresees very well what is going to happen when the individualistic mean society arises, where an innocent can become more dangerous and demanding.

Balraj Sahini's performance was excellent. The kid who played his son's role was also tremendously powerful.

The movie was so much moving that I could not watch it till the ends and switched off the screen, shifting myself into deep thinking mode. Brilliantly best movie.

Do Ankhein Barah Haath:

Again V. Shantaram. This is the movie which brought heavy change in the jails of India,a nd changed the concept of prison, which used to be in very inhuman condition.

Do Ankhein Barah Haath is a model movie, where a jailor proposes the governemtn to let him try his pilot project, where he felt that instead of putting criminals behind bar and being inhuman, if they are kept there like inmates at home and their benefit of morale is thought we can change a criminal into a civilized responsible person. t This movie is among the rare movies which gave solution to our system and thus we see the new look of today's jails.

Mother India

Directed by Mehboob Khan. Story written by Wajahat Mirza.

It is the tale that is constantly repeated in real life. In some part I may say that it a bit dramatized version of Do bigha Zameen. But besides dealing with moral, the movie deals with mother son relation, and directly gives the judgjement that any evil to the society should be removed no matter who he is. Beside this This movie tells about the importance of education in our life. memorable performances were obtained from Nargis Dutt as mother of 2 sons played by Sunil Dutt and Rajender Kumar.

Excellent movie.

Guide

Devanand Magnum Opus, originally taken from RK Laxman's work. The movie explores very well in a female psyche, turbulent relationships and human nature and meaning of love. Devanadn as well as Wahida rehman were class apart in this movie, a movie which gave celebrations to women.

Sujata

The caste system has been a biggest factor and black spot over the Indian social structure. Way behind in 1959, the director Bimal Roy, questions the validity of this system through a love traingle. Highyl emotional and intelligent movie, Sujata has also excellent performances in the form of Nutan and Late Shri Sunil Dutt.

Aarshiwad

Released in 1968, directed by Hrishikesh Mukherji, this movie is another excellent movie over the rural India, besides Teesri kasam. I rate both the movie equally. Arshiwaad deals with the social system of the village as well as the tilted parenthood. Ashok Kumar will be always remembered for his class act in Arshiwaad.

Teesri Kasam

Rajkapoor's teesri Kasam is actually from a famous novel, based over a north bihar village. It's a love story which captures very deep emotions of love. excellent again!

Naya Daur

From the house of B. R. Chopra, 1958, this movie asked an amazingly disnguished question about the race of industrialisation and how to get the rural india at the par of industrializing world. How to match the pace and what are the possible dangers to humankind.

In his life Dilip Kumar may be considered among the best actors but he did not deliver much of meaningful movies. But this one is really something for which ilip Kumar will be proudful.

Black

Directed by Snajay Leela Bhansali, year 2005, the movie comes amid a stage of Hindi movie dome where the filmakers had lost their objectives and responsibilities to the society. With strong conviction and an influence from the life of Hellen Keler, the movie is about the relationship of a disabled child and her mentor. Besides dealing with a disabled person it deals with the force of human emotions. Truly outstanding, especially when the era is concerned. Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherji have given a spell, which gives life to modern days of Indian Cinema.

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron

Kundan Shah releases this movie in 1980's, which is high on satires and full of comedy. Best satirical movie ever made, which invades you heart with laugh as well as your brain with an alarm. Ravi Vaaswani towers above all in his performance with an able support by Naseeruddin Shah.

Deewar

This movie is mix of Do beegha Zameen and Mother India, but goes further ahead with many other questions in the fashion of revolt. In earlier movies it was suggestion but Deewar was an open threatenign to the collapsing socialist governemtn which blames the government and red tapism for the diverted youths and injustice done to the innocent peoples. Deewar is the movie with very strong impact over the society, where the viewer was left witht he feeling that A Man is The Only God of His Own. Deewar parallels the famous student-labour revolt of 1970's and birth of modern day India.

Satya

Ram Gopal Verma's triology over gangsters and crime is over with Sarkar, but Satya is the only movie made about the Gangsters, which deals and portrays them as simple human being instead of glamorising them. It's the most realistic and impactful movie about gangsters which discourages you from doing any such thing. Strong movie with strong impact on society. Manoj Bajpayi was excellent simply.

Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander

The movie is very very critical with regard of social issues. It has dealt a great situation and one must applaud the director for his long sightedness.

The movie deals about the emotions of students across the schools which differ just due to socio economical strata. the impact over their mind and their indulgence. The movie has great musical scores form Jatin lalit, and had high impact over school going students.

Dil Chahta Hai

farhan Akhtar is a good movie director, but he got success only with this one. A great issue about the youths of modern day who want to be valued but same time are confused and stay slefsish. it looks into the lonely but lively heart of modern days youths who need to be handled gently as they are under tremendous emotional pressure. Any young man of present will identify with the movie, I bet!

I finish My list of Top 10 movies and I don't do rankign here becuase it's tough for me to do so with them here. At one single positon more than single movie can contend here. I am lucky that I could watch these movies still in these dates. Now check your luck by asking for the DVDs in any shop.

I count these movies on the basis of their impact over the society. I don't consider purely artsy movies or makers or actors the great one becuase there reach is not strong to casue revolution. The above mentioned movies have in true sense revolutionised or affected our society.
