Cartoons and comic characters invariably play a small yet important role in shaping ones life as one goes through childhood.
Hereby I am trying to pay some tribute to those fictious characters that provided me with lots of fond and funny memories
1) Tom and Jerry
No doubt, the best pair ever, naughty and nutty jerry, also innocent sometimes, but most of the times I loved tom, for being at the receiving end so innocently.
2) bugs bunny,
Who wouldnt like to be such a wit? always knowing how to tactfully chat enemies away to their doom, always imagined myself to be him, and wanted to savour the victories he got by being him.
3) Pink Panther,
For me, the music was the centre of attraction, still love it, pink panther was a completely fascinating character, teaching me my first course in laughing at life.
4) G.I.Joe
A reason to believe that the right always wins in the end
5) Tintin
Loved tintin and snowy, would rate him the no.1 comic book character, adventurous, just, righteous, daring, courageous, a good ideal
6) Archie and co.
I loved veronica more than everybody else, but always wanted archie to be with betty, who deserved him, after tintin, the second best comic characters, liked jughead too, for his weirdness.
7) Mask
Smokey!, everyone wears a mask, pretending to be something he/she is not,
rational, obedient, over good, nice, and then under the effect of the mask, (magical lol) one's true character comes out to the fore,
Loved the funny character, who was ideally hidden inside a typical metro executive Mr.Ipkis.
Most of the cartoon/comic characters had pets/dogs of their own, showed their love for animals, and the company/faithfullness they got from their dogs, Ideal people always seemed to INVEST in Trustworthy and faithful friends.
8) Mickey and Buddies
Loved goofey the most, for his goof ups, donald duck and his nephews deserve another rank altogether distinct, on the whole mickey and his gang were amongst the first ones who brought me a colorful, fun filled view to life,
9) Uncle Scrouge and his nephews,
The three ducks and the adventures alongwith their miser uncle was something I savoured every morning on doordarshan, the music was also simply good,
10) Mowgli
I have even forgotten the name of this cartoon, but rudyard kiplings character did make me want to be amongst those animals, talking and feeling just like humans, wonderful story, wonderful charcters, I loved Baghiraaa the most, the black cat, simply for his fierceness,
I have written this, as I said earlier, to pay a tribute to these innocent characters and say thanx to them and their creators like hanna and barbara for being my companions in my childhood.
I would have loved to include johnny bravo, popeye, scooby doo, and lots of others,
