Well let me begin to say that the order in which I listed these videos does not mean I like them the best in that order. I came up with those videos and wrote them down as I thought of them, so they are in no particular order. This was very hard to do, since there are so many great and awesome videos that should have made my list that didn’t. I will add some extra names at the bottom to give them recognition. Hope you enjoy the list I made, and I’m sure some are not on the list that you might have felt should have been. I’m sorry if I couldn’t please everyone.
Twisted Sister(I want to rock)
This video is awesome, with Dean Snyder the lead singer. His hair is wild looking, blond and really big and frizzy and all over the place. He is wearing black tight paints with rags hanging all over him. This song is so cool, and the video is about kids wanting to listen to rock music, but the parents don’t allow them too. The boy is in his room and his father comes in and tells him to turn off the music, and stop playing his guitar. Then his father tells him “what are you going to do with your life?” and the boy picks up his guitar and turns up the amps and plays one long strum on the guitar strings and says to his father “I want to rock!” and his dad goes flying out the window from the blast of the sound coming from the big amps. The reasons I love this video is because it shouldn’t matter what kind of music you listen too as long as you enjoy it.
Pink Floyd(Brick in the wall)
This is another one of those so called rebellion videos. It’s about kids in school and they are tired of the way the teachers are treating them. I loved watching the kids telling their teachers to “hey teachers leave us kids alone”. I know I would never treat my teacher like that, or even say such things to a teacher, but I still thought it was cool when I was growing up to have a song that dealt with some of our inner thoughts that some might have had about teachers.
White Snake(Drifter)
David Coverdale is so hot looking in this video. Not only does he have the cute smile, but he has the outrageous car too. He is driving down the road in a car with his girlfriend(who by the way is his real girlfriend in life) and she is trying to distract him from driving. Then you will see her on top of the car straddling the car and doing some cool moves on it. This video is just so sexy and the two of them together are hot! “Like a drifter I was born to walk alone, going down the only road I ever known.” I loved that verse in the song.
Van Hallen(Jump)
Even though David and Eddy, Mike and Alex are just standing around on stage doing this song on video I still loved it. David Lee Roth is awesome, and the way he was jumping all over the stage and doing splits and stuff was so cool. This band and video is hot, and so are the whole band members!
John Bon Jovi(Living on a prayer)
This is one of his best rock videos this band has done. They are still kicking today, but I love the old stuff they done. John is so cute and his ever so bright smile just delights me every time I see him. This video is awesome because I love the way they dance around the stage, and then they fly out on some sort of rope into the audience and they stick out their tongues and just laugh and act so darn crazy! This was one of the first videos I seen from this band, I will never forget how it would make me feel and how I would just jump right up and start acting stupid and dancing around the house. I was around 14 years old or so when this video came to MTV.
ZZ-Top(sharp dressed man)
I just love ZZ-top, even though they are old looking me in the video and have long beards and wear those hats. I still think their video is awesome, and the guy who is in the video is cute too. The way he gets ready to go out, and then the ZZ-top car pulls up and those good-looking girls start to come out of it. I know the guys always loved this video because of the girls. I just like the video because I think the band looks cool and the song is cool and the lyrics are awesome! Go ZZ-TOP
Kid Rock(Cowboy)
This is a cool video, it reminds me of Smokey and the Bandit. Nice car, nice women, and of course you have Arnold from Different Strokes in this video. It’s kind of a western video but with the “KID” he makes it ROCK! “I wanna be a cowboy baby” just love the way those words come off the lips of the KID. This is a kick bu** song, and video. I do however miss his little bro who died.
Aero Smith with Run DMC(Walk this way)
With rock and rap coming together you just have to love this song and video. You have the screaming lead singer with his big lips and mouth named Steven Tyler, and then you have the guys from Run DMC who are so different in style and song. They are a bunch of rappers who decided to take Stevens song to a different level. The video is so cool the way both bands are beside each other and a wall between them and they are both trying to do the song. Then Steven Tyler breaks the walls down and there you have Run DMC. The bands come together and start to do their little “walk this way” dance. You will see Run DMC with their white sneakers on that have no shoelaces dancing along side of Steven Tyler and his cool shoes. It is so cool and yet funny to watch a hard rock band like Aero Smith team up with a rap band like DMC. This is a must video to be added to the top of the list.
Skid Row(18 and life)
The lead singer at the time of this video was young. He was one of the youngest rock singers during that time that made it big. This song was good because it was about a kid, who was 18 years old, and he shot another kid and now he is spending the rest of his life in prison for murder. This song is cool cause it shows that you can’t be stupid and do stupid things and if you do then you will end up like the kid in the video, young and in prison forever!
Joan Jett(I love rock and roll)
I had to add at least one rock singer and video that was by a girl. I always loved Joan Jett, she surely knew how to sing, and her songs were cool. I like the lyrics to this song and it goes along with her video. “I love rock and roll put another dime in the jukebox baby”. Ha, ha if it really only coasted a dime to play a song on the jukebox now of days?”
