Ok, I am about to write my top ten videos. Most of them are punk, and they are only on here because I like the song, not the video.I will give a description of what the video entails, what album the track is from and other such information.not ot hard to take in? It took me a while to get the list right but I finally managed it, and I am quite pleased with what I finished up with.not to hard for me, and hopefully a good read for you.Well only if you are a punk fan, not just mainstream punk, but some underground stuff to.it is all exciting and each video is good, at least in it's own way.hope you enjoy.
10: Bowling For Soup:
The B*tch Song. This is the hilariously funny video from texan punk/rockers Bowling For Soup. The video entails the four members of the band getting put in prison for something they didn't do. They are handled roughly by fellow inmates and in particular a short one. They are finally released after it is found outh that they are innoccent, but that doesn't stop them from playing just outside the cells and being grabbed. Best Part: There isn't really a best part of this album, because it is all funny, although it does give a new meaning to the phrase'don't drop the soap'. Worst Part: The guitarist being, literally, gay for another inmate. I swear he must weigh at least 20 stone! From the Album: Let's Do It For Johnny
9: NoFx: Leave It Alone.
No top ten video list would be the same without the ever so famous NoFx video Leave It Alone. It isn't famous because of it's content though, but more because of the fact that it was, and still is, the only video they have ever filmed for a single. The video is basically them playing to a small punk crowd in some kids house, and then, at the end them skating off holding onto the back of an Ice Cream Van.not exactly scintilating stuff, but still a legendry video. Best Part: None really. There is nothing good OR bad about this video.excpet for the fact it is the only song they ever made a promo video for. Worst Part: See above. From The Album: Punk In Drublic
8: Blink 182: Adam's Song.,
Adam's Song was based on an e-mail the band got from a boy of about 13, which he sent to each member of the band moments before he killed himself. He stated Blink as one of hte very few things that brightened up his life, and they decided to write a song about it, because it was such a serious issue. The video itself is nothing spectacular. It is Blink playing in front of LOT'S of photos of them, and old Blink flyers etc, interspersed with scenes of them in a restaurant, waiting to go onstage etc. The song and the video are very, very good, and probably one of the best videos of 1999/2000. Best Part: The song. Worst Part: The story the song is based on. From The Album: Enema Of The State
7: A.F.I: Day's Of The Phoenix.
The goth punkers have done it this time, with the amazing song'Days Of The Phoenix'. The video, once again isn't to amazing which is why it only came in at number 7, but it isn't bad. The song has a good pace to it, and the band look so funny/scary in their goth get up. The way the singer creams on the video really gets me every time, and the bit hwere he is back stage and he isn't wearing the whole pvc/leather gear. Best Bit: The song Worst Bit: None really. 6: The Offspring:
Why Don't You Get A Job? This along with'Pretty Fly.' managed to catapult the Offspring to the heights that that had started with'Smash' but not really continued with'Ixnay.'. Although the album the song is taken from is really crap, the song itself isn't all that bad.i would choose some earlier videos but there isn't much to them. The video consists of the band walking through a town, with lots of people starting to follow them a la Limp Bizkit style, although this one is MUCH better! Best Bit: When the lame dude jumps through the window! Worst Bit: The bit where the'Pretty Fly.' dude drives past at the end.really lame! From The Album: Americana
5: Jimmy Eat World: Bleed American.
This is the debut single form the bands new album'Bleed American'. The song is not the heaviest on the album(as I said it was), and the video isn't the best. It is them plaaying'live', but it isn't really. they go mad on the video, the singer shaking his head in several hundred different directions.i only really chose it because the song rules, and no video could make it bad. Best Bit: The Song Worst Bit: None From The Album: Bleed American
4: System Of A Down: Chop Suey.
I know I said that this list would mostly be punk, but I didn't say it would ALL be punk did i? This song is amazing, and the video isn't all that bad.it consists of the band playing on a stage and intertwining with each other.the special effects must have been pretty expensive! Best Bit: The amazing Singing, and the video Worst Bit: NONE! From The Album: Toxicity
3: Foo Fighters: Everlong.
Once again a non-punk song, but once again a great song AND video! The video is one of the freakiest I have ever seen, and it involves Dave Grohl dressing up as a punk, and Taylor Hawkins dressing up as a woman! I swear he looks authentic in that dress! Need more info? go and find the video online! Best Bit: The bit with hte HUGE phone! Worst Bit: the other band members dressed up with fake stubble.sickening! From The Album: The Colour And The Shape
2: The Offspring:
All I Want This video is so different form others that I have seen by the Offspring. The video is some boy running down streets through a town, while getting undressed, while the band play in a house, and some dude with a stocking on his head plays the piano! At the end, the boy falls over in mud wearing nothing more then his boxers! other bits include crashes from old races like one on penny farthings, and one where a racing car crashes into loads of people! Best Bit: The crashes Worst Bit: The boy in his underwear! From The album: Ixnay On The Hombre.
1: Blink 182: Josie.
Who else would I put here? they are only the best punk band around. The video is probably one of the funniest they have done, the complete opposite of'Adam's SOng' in the funny rating. The video contains the band playing in the toilets at school, Mark Running around the running field, and other funny stuff. I would recomend the video to anyone who is lucky enough to find it.(i have only found it on the'Urethra Chronicles VCR/DVD). Best Bit: all of it! Worst Bit: None From the album: Dude Ranch. So there you have it, my top ten videos, most of them punk, but a couple of different ones(rock/metal/emo).
They are all great and if there is one of them you haven't seen then I recommend that you look for it!
