Songs that could do with more than just listening&

Trust me, its difficult to find the right mix of an interesting video with a good soundtrack.

So here goes …

In Sweet Symphony by Verve, Richard Ashcroft walks down the streets with an I-don’t-care-a-damn-about –this-world attitude that absolutely rocks! This guy just walks endlessly on the pavement singing out aloud not looking if he is bumping at anybody or if he is about to hit a lamppost. Bittersweet Symphony was used for Nike TV advert in US.

He says Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony that's life.Try to make ends meet, you're a slave to the money then you die…I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down. You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet, yeah…No change, I can change, I can change, I can change, but I'm here in my mould, I am here in my mould…But I'm a million different people from one day to the next.I can't change my mould, no, no, no.

( hey sorry people I dunno how I could miss this one out in my list of favorite singles, but this goes up there!)

Black h o l e sun by Sound garden has these vividly wild visuals something like a tiny tadpole sitting on a leaf beside the pool throwing out its tongue so long that it could swallow a human, a snake creeps out of the barbeque, the eyeballs falling out of a woman’s face, her face deforming and finally gruesomely changing. The song goes like this, In my eyes…Indisposed …In disguise …As no one knows …Hides the face …Lies the snake …The sun …In my Disgrace …Boiling heat … Summer stench …'Neath the black … The sky look dead … Call my name …Through the cream …And I'll hear you Scream again …Black h o l e sun …Won't you come …And wash away the rain…

Learn to fly by the Foo Fighters is an amazing video where we have this ex-Nirvana drummer multicasting as a gaunt airhostess, alluring hostess, gay steward, jovial pilot, celebrity rocker, and fellow passenger woman all stuffed in a jet when we have a crisis situation before landing and our rocker saves everyone.

Singing in my sleep by Semisonic. Dunno why but I just love monochromatic videos coming in pure black n white. This has a histrionic guy looking absolutely lost running around with a tape given to him by an obscure female containing some lines she has sung for her and this man sings I can hear you singing to me in my sleep. This is one helluva song… guys who haven’t heard this … plz do catch up with this one.

Aerosmith’s  Crazy! Yes he is! Don’t we all fall for those enthralling videos like Crazy where we have two girls making a runaway from school, landing up in a nightclub pole dancing and getting wild, doing what girls are best at … having FUN!

4 guys from Deep blue something have breakfast in the middle of bustling streets sitting dressed in bathrobes Breakfast at Tiffany’s singing a mind-blowing robustic song.

Alanis Morrisette outdoes herself in ‘So Pure’. Never knew a singer to master so many dance forms like in this video and its needless to say it’s one of her typical songs with strong vocals and libretto.

Opposites attract by Paula Abdul has this staggering concept of contradiction in it. Paula and a street tom cat getting together in the visuals. The words too go like…

Our friends are sayin'

We ain't gonna last…………………

I take-2 steps forward

I take-2 steps back…………………

We come together

Cuz opposites attract

And you know-it ain't fiction

Just a natural fact…………………….

Things in common

There just ain't a one

But when we get together

We have nothin' but fun……….

I love all the videos of Fat Boy Slim; they are absolutely amazing… right from Weapon of choice to Rockafeller Skank, Praise you, Hey mamma etal. Right Here, Right Now is an awesome presentation of evolution and can teach Charles Darwin the basics.

All the small things by Blink 182 is one very run of the mill song with some bad humor attached with a lift from all the popular videos of the time right from Backstreet boys to Britney Spears

~

Some more interesting visuals I can think of are those of Peter Gabriel, Out of the mouth, Return of innocence by Enigma, Fast Love by George Michael, vogue by Madonna, Hey Boy Hey Girl Chemical Brothers, Deeper Underground Jamiroquai, Firestarter by Prodigy and Yellow by Coldplay.
