It's way too hard to put these down in a sorted order ... I'd rather stick to my ' in no sorted order' fling! :)

Rain Man ... Tom Cruise, Dustin Hoffman starrer '88 oscar winner, the movie depicts one sided relationship between two brothers, self-centered LA hustler Charlie Babbitt (Tom Cruise) and the older Raymond (Dustin Hoffman), an autistic resident of a home for the mentally disabled.

As the plot goes on,the emotionally unreachable, Raymond, becomes the catalyst for Charlie's transformation from a self-absorbed character incapable of intimacy into a caring and sympathetic adult.

RAIN MAN rises above the banality of its concept--another buddy movie crossbred with a road picture--to become a genuinely moving and intelligent look at what it means to be human.

A Few Good Men ... Cruise v Nicholson in the courtroom make cinema history! Its quotable, emotional and no matter how many times you watch it it is still edge of the seat stuff... fantastic, sharp, witty, and explosive at the very end. courtroom drama huh ... anticipate a DRAMATIC TURNAROUND!!

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest... A masterpiece. From the films opening - the tone is immediately set for this film. A slightly comic but moving drama. The eccentric nature of Jack Nicholson's character Randal P. McMurphy is evident immediately as he is thrown into the mental hospital depicted in the film. There is a beautiful twist atthe end that I believe makes the film. The build up is that of a happyending with everybody walking off into the sunset.

Fools Rush In ... a delightful romantic comedy! Matthew Perry is a self-effacing leading man.... Salma Hayek is a most fetching and winsome leading lady ... a feel good movie in a rather cynical world!

Bird On A Wire ...this is a more or less standard chase movie. Mel Gibson is a former witness who put the bad guy in jail. The latter is out to kill him, and Gibson goes on the run with Goldie Hawn. You pretty much know what is going to happen from the beginning, but watching these two do their thing is hugely enjoyable.

Summer Holiday ... another road movie in my list (others being Rain Man & Bird On a Wire). this 1963 Cliff Ricard starrer British musical flick defines CLASSIC! Don (Richard) convinces a bus company to let him fix up a bus as a traveling hotel and take it through Europe as a dry run for a tour series. He picks up a bunch of his pals. As they go through the Continent, they pick up three attractive young women singers who are going to Athens for a gig as well as a fourteen-year-old boy on the run, Bobbie. However, Bobbie turns out to be Barbara Winters, an American pop star on the run, leading to romantic complications amidst plenty of song and dance.

The movie also features the major Cliff Richard hits, inlcluding Summer Holiday and Bachelor Boy.

Cool Hand Luke ... I love this movie. There's nothing much more to say! It's a classic rebel-against-the-repressive-institution story in the line of One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest or The Shawshank Redemption. Pual Newman is immense as the con who just won't reform. He has never ever done as he was told, and won't now, even in when beaten and tested to the physical limits in jail.

It is so good ..... it is well worth watching again and again.

The Shawshank Redemption ... another prison flick! Has a captivating story that you just cant turn away from. Not to mention a cast who have given their all in the film, none more so than the eclectic Morgan Freeman. Tim Robbins performance is astounding and Stephen Kings 'work' is, as always, magnificent.

American Beauty ... a beauty indeed!! An uplifting and yet at times tragic story of Lester Burham(Kevin Spacey) and his mid life realisation. The entire cast of this film show their calibre by allowing us to believe in them ... I havent seen any other act more natural than this!

Scent of a Woman ... a black comedy about a blind retired officer who in all honesty you should hate. he rude blunt and appears to be the most arrogant selfish man to grace the silver screen. But pacino makes you love him ... the guy's truly sensational, and so is the movie!
