AAM AADMI'S RATINGS!! WE HAVE THE POWER TO RATE!!

Advertisements are becoming increasingly important day by day. Every manufacturer wishes to attract the customer towards his product. The result is that we get to watch a variety of

commercials on different topics and they are becoming more and more interesting too(I would say that they are more interesting than the serial or show itself). After all, we are compelled

to watch them for 15 MINUTES in an half an hour show.

I would rate an ad on the basis of how well it has been presented, it's specificity and whether it is attracting their target. Many a times you have sit wondering what the ad is about.

So.here's my list:(with 1 being highest and 10 lowest)

On the first spot comes-

AIRTEL:

The most recent being based on - The power of human expression.

It is really meaningful and brings out the message. It's really catchy which is the most essential aspect of a commercial. Then, we have the beautifully composed tune by A.R. Rahman. IT's

become really popular and almost all cell phones use it as a ringtone.

Second to-

SOME DETERGENT COMMERCIAL(CAN'T REMEMBER THE PRODUCT NAME.MAY BE SURF EXCEL):

The song goes something like this-

Kaun rakhe rang.

dupatte mein pyaar kaa, collar mein shaan kaa, pagdi mein sammaan kaa.duniya ke sabse rangeen desh ko, rangeen rakhne ke liye hai XYZ detergent

Beautiful lyrics that make you feel proud to be  Indian and makes you want to buy the detergent. So Kudos to the maker. I'm sure you'll agree with me.

The bronze medal goes to-

HUTCH:

'Rishtoen ko miloe mein naapna, band kar do' - that's the most recent caption they've used. In this ad, the narrator keeps talking about her relatives who live all across the world. Some in

Sydney, Delhi, Jaipur, New York, Mumbai.and lots other. It is eally interesting. It again emphasises on the use of cell particularly HUtch. SO, again, it's very apt and very well presented.

Number four:

HUTCH AGAIN-

'you and I.in this beautiful world. green grass, blue skies. in this beautiful world.' Along with this nice song, we have the little cute puppie who follows us everywhere. This is symbolic

of the network connection of the cell phone being so strong. Well presented, catchy and apt.

Fifth position to-

MENTOS SERIES-

The first, where a student enters the class late but pretends to be leaving the class and fools the teacher, is an absoluetely well conceived idea.

The second one, where the barber accidently cuts the hair of his customer in a wrong way but manages to fool his customer, is again remarkable. It shows how MENTOS supposedly

makes you smarter. That is'DIMAAG KI BATTI JALAO'.

Sixth Spot-

SURF EXCEL-

'DAAG ACCHE HAI'. A really sweet ad depicting how a brother fights for his little sister by hitting a puddle of mud. I'm sure all of you have seen and have also appreciated it. It has

received lots of compliments. I have given it the sixth spot because it does not clearly advertise it's product. The fact that DAAG ACCHE HAI does not make me want to buy the

detergent. It may be appealing but the accuracy lacks.

Seven number award goes to-

XYZ BANK(my memory fails me)

This award is not to a television commercial but a newspaper commercial. In this, a picture is shown with Mufasa and Simba.(I hope you know these Lion King characters. Simba is small,

baby, cub and Mufasa is his father, an grown up lion.) Under Mufasa, it's written'LEADER' and under Simba'POTENTIAL LEADER'. And the final caption is'WE MAKE THE

POTENTIAL LEADER INTO THE LEADER.'(The word may not be exact).  It was some bank offering loans. A very appealing ad.

Eight number-

PARLE G

'G' MAANE'GENIUS'. A series of ads in which a little kid eates Parle G and tricks the wise n experienced people. Very well done again.

Ninth spot-

HIDE AND SEEK BISCUIT

The very recent advertisement with Hrithik Roshan. In this, he manages to get a girl dancing using Hide anD Seek bisciut. A good ad. Apt, appealing(thanks to Hrithik Roshans dance)

would have gone higher in my rankings but the others overcomed it.

Tenth and final-

YOU DECIDE:

I would really appreciate it, if you help me decide the last spot.

Comments are welcome. These are my ratings. There are many great commercials today. Growing interesting, day by day.
