The people at the helm. Review on Ten Best Bollywood Directors

The captain of the ship. The Skipper is the director... any movie with best actors & an amazing storyline can't be good enuff if the director aint worth it. For all the coppolas speilbergs kubricks that they have we have ours pound for pound. I've tried to put in directors who have directed more than a few movies & were not one off wonders. These are the directors whose movies I liked watching & belive many people liked as well. Not in any order as I must add.

1] Vijay Anand - Truly the master of suspense ..with Jewel Thief (1967) & Teesri Manzil (1966) ..or with the socially chalenging Guide (1965/I) or romantic comedies like Tere Ghar Ke Samne (1963) & Nau Do Gyarah (1957) ,... & money spinners like Kala Bazar (1960) Johnny Mera Naam (1970) Ram Balram (1980) ........ he should hae done a lot more movies than 15 odd that he has done. https://imdb.com/name/nm0025629/

2] Hrishikesh Mukerjee - This guy has given us more material to laugh & cry than anybody else. Golmaal, Naramgaram, Khoobsurat, Chupke Chupke, Mili, Guddi, Bawarchi, Anand, Abhimaan, Namakharam, Satyakam, Anupama, Asli naqli, anari, ... ....I doubt there has been anyone who has done such a wide range of movies & so many good ones https://imdb.com/name/nm0611531/ His movies were simple & so was he.

3] Shyam Benegal - Sensible cinema is what one xpects of him. The filmmaker of our times. With movies such as manthan, ankur, mandi,trikaal, bhoomika, mandi, I doubt if someone of his caliber would be born again. https://imdb.com/name/nm0070867/

5] Govind Nihalani - started off as a cinematographer & then directed Aakrosh, Ardhasatya, drohkaal, hazaar chaurasi ki maa, aaghat... Need I say more https://imdb.com/name/nm0631539/

7] Ramgopal Verma - camera angles from below the stove or through a broken window.. yes it is ramu .. still lot to accomplish....satya, company, rangeela, shiva....

Shakti Samantha, Prakash Mehra, Manmohan Desai... I believe they cannot be ranked on 1 - 10 .... altough .. my scales do tilt in favour of hrishikesh mukherjee as no 1
