It depends on the director of a film whether he will make the movie gripping or will he extract good performances from his star cast,will he make the film exciting and interesting and will he be able to make the movie succesful?In bollywood there are several talented directors but the ten best directors according to me are....
1.Ram Gopal Varma:Ram Gopal Varma is the director who has given Bollywood the idea to get out of the same old love stories in which the girl is rich and the boy is poor and they fall in love.All the films of Ram Gopal Varma are different and a new experience for Bollywood.Whether it is a horror film like Raat or a light_hearted movie like Rangeela to a thriller like Kaun or the films about underworld like Company or Satya,Ram Gopal Varma has always been an excellent director.He has also produced excellent films like Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya and Road.There are lots of expectations from his forthcoming venture ''Bhoot''which again promises to be different.
2.Aditya Chopra:The director of super hit films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge and Mohabbatein always makes fresh films.His way of making films is superb!That is why his film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge is a record breaker.It is not an easy work to direct a film like Mohabbatein which includes a big star cast but Aditya Chopra is the one who succeeded in making the film super_hit.
3.Raj Kumar Santoshi:Raj Kumar Santoshi is a mature director who directs mature films.Last year we saw his film The Legend Of Bhagat Singh,which did not do well at the box_office but it doesn`t mean that the movie wasn`t good.The film was amazing and Raj Kumar Santoshi`s direction was fantastic!His direction made the film very hard_hitting and unforgettable.Undoubtedly!The film was great,especially the way Raj Kumar Santoshi has directed the climax is par excellence.Then,Raj Kumar Santoshi directed Damini which is,again,an excellent film.His comedy movie ''Andaaz Apna Apna''was also very good and hilarious.Lajja,again,was one of his finest work as a director.The way he has handled sensitive issues in the film and the way he has revealed the truth about our society in the film is praiseworhty!No other director could have handled the scene of Sita so well,as Raj Kumar Santoshi did in Lajja.The scene of the Sita play was very impressive and effective.
4.Subhash Ghai:Subhash Ghai,the showman has directed excellent films such as Hero,Karma,Saudaagar,Pardes and Taal.His films are very refreshing and when we watch movies directed by Subhash Ghai,it feels as if we are on a wonderful journey.
5.Sanjay Leela Bhansali:The confident director who made an excellent and different film like Khamoshi_The Musical,is Sanjay Leela Bhansali.Khamoshi was such an excellent emotional movie that no one can forget it.His film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was also equally good and the magnum opus Devdas was the first Hindi film to be premiered at Cannes Festival.The film was the most expensive film,in the history of indian cinema and this film would have been impossible without Sanjay Leela Bhansali.It was a classic!
6.David Dhawan:The best director of comedy movies,in Bollywood,David Dhawan never failed to make us laugh.His super hit films include Coolie No.1,Haseena Maan Jaayegi and Jodi No.1.He is back with Ek aur Ek Gyarah.
7.Sooraj Barjatiya:Sooraj Barjatya`s films such as Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Hum Saath Saath Hain are always in our memories.Hum Aapke Hain Kaun is the most profitable film of Bollywood,ever.
8.Karan Johar:This young boy has given two super hit films in Bollywood.His film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was a record breaker and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was a super hit.He is really an excellent director.
9.Mahesh Bhatt:The director whose films are always different include Zakhm and Sir.He is really a brilliant director.
10.Madhur Bhandarkar:A great director!Madhur`s films like Chandni Bar and Satta prove that he is really very talented!
