Story:

It was published in 1611. the reason behind its publication was the arrival of a ship which was lost in England. all the crew members arrived safely and this inspired Shakespeare to write his most celebrated drama The tempest. The supernatural scene of the storm justifies the title of the drama. there is a character Prospero whose kingdom has been usurped by his own brother. Miranda is his daughter and Prospero visits an island after leaving his kingdom. on that island he gains the knowledge of black magic.

when the characters like Sebastian, Ferdinand, Gonzalo, Antonio, Trinculo, Alonso, and Stephano comes from a wedding party of the daughter of Alonso they face a storm. this storm is so strong that all the characters think that others are dead while everybody is alive. this storm has been instigated by the commands of Prospero. he tries to take revenge but Miranda who knows nothing about her past tells her father to help these people who are facing storm. Prospero tells Miranda about her past and commands her to sleep.

when Miranda and Ferdinand see each other they feel a kind of bond for each other. they are trapped by the bond of love. this play has been written beautifully by Shakespeare. I have read it several times and I love to read it again.
