When Uninor came into the market, the per minute tariff was not enticing until one day I made a simple calculation for the calls for that day and was surprised on how much I would have saved if I had a Uninor connection.
I had started off with the .39ps call setup charges plan but shifted to Rs 2 per day plan for the simple reason that I make more calls and ended up losing more than Rs 2 per day(illustration given below).
Some simple calculations are given below:
Uninor plan 1 has 0.39ps added to all calls as call setup charges
Uninor plan 2 has Rs 2/day as call setup charges(rental)

Comparing 1 sec plan with 1 min plan is not right as you pay for the actual seconds after one full minute only but even if you take another one minute into account in the per min plan, still the per sec plan is expensive.
Uninor's second plan of Rs 2/day is cheaper if you make more calls in a day. It is not suitable for people who receive more calls and make less outgoing calls. For example, if you are making less than 5 outgoing calls per day, then the Rs 2/day is not suitable to you. Make a list of calls that you make everyday for about a week and take the average outgoing calls per day, if it exceeds 5 calls, then it is prudent that you take the second plan from Uninor.
