Teesri Aankh, directed by Harry Baweja, is yet another flick on MMS scandals.
In the film, Sunny Deol plays a super cop who's trying to uncover a pornography racket. His fiancee Neha Dhupia takes off to London to participate in some beauty pageant but ends up caught in a net of pornography and crime. She's bumped off by the bad guys and the only witness to her murder is Amisha Patel playing a dumb assistant director - and here I mean dumb as in she cannot speak. Sunny, who doesn't know until quite late in the story that his lady love has been knocked off, is determined to bring to task every scum bag who traps unsuspecting girls by planting hidden cameras in their bedrooms, bathrooms and changing rooms.
An amalgamation of innumerable bollywood films films, it has a story that's as old as the hills. But with director Harry Baweja at the helm of affairs, obviously, the focus is on action scenes, more than anything else.Although the screenplay has nothing novel to offer, a few scenes here and there do register an impact. These include Amisha's portions in the initial reels and the one when Sunny tries to bring about a truce between two warring groups in the second half. But sequences like these can be counted on fingertips.
Directorially, Harry is handicapped by an oft-repeated script, though expertly executed action scenes do elevate the portions to an extent. Music is another drawback. Since the songs have hardly been promoted, the numbers do not register any impact whatsoever. Cinematography is alright.
Sunny stands out with a credible performance. Amisha needs to go easy on her make-up. Her few scenes are otherwise quite okay. Neha does very well .
Arti's track looks like a filler. Murli Sharma is excellent, essaying the negative part without going overboard. Ashish chowdhary gets no scope. Mukesh Rishi is average.
To sum up Teesri Aankh is a weak fare!
