We have heard about Abhimanyu in Mahabharata, who had learnt while in mother’s womb. Apun ka Tabrez Mirza Khan saab also learnt all stunts in mother’s womb. And we as Indian audience, have learnt expecting high & higher from our past experience.

MHN(Main Hoon Naa) & OSO(Om Shanti Om) – these are the movies we think about, the moment we hear about film director Farah Khan(FK). And this time the it was not different. Having Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Akhaye Khanna as star cast – somewhere I was expecting MHM / OSO type entertainment. Akshay is not new in comic role and had not disappointed us as audience before. It is the same with Akshaye Khanna.

The movie starts with cops planning to transfer the rescued antiques to Delhi. And apna TMK plots to rob the antiques without letting anyone even to sense about it. The movie evolves on how TMK tries to con people as part his master plan. I am not going to write if he succeeds or fails in his plan or on the consequences(read not going to share the story here).

This time for TMK, Farah tried a different ball game altogether. So, the first disparity was MHM & OSO mindset. Looks like it was an opportunity for her better half - Shirish Kunderto try his hand on all fields like story, screenplay, lyrics, composer … ooofff the list is long and I feel exhausted while typing the list. So does Mr. Kunder. While his focus got dispersed, the story line(rather I would name it the Farah Khan punch) got missed out completely.

I am disappointed seeing TMK as an FK product. Even if I try to put the film as a bunch of illogical incidents, I must mention they are loosely coupled utmost. Even Bhulbhulaiya’s Akshay & Sheila ki jawani failed to sail the boat.

Akshay Kumar is really sharp as Tabrez. I believe his humorous skill is not extracted the best

Akshaye Khanna – done justice to the role of superstar Ateesh. May be his ‘Day Ho’ dance steps would be a popular one during wedding etc

Arya Babbar – perfect like RK Narayanan’s short story

Ali Asgar – my beliefe is stronger now that ‘ Wonders do come in small packages’

Aman Verma and Murli Sharma – not sure about the need of those characters in the movie

Raghu & Rajiv – I love you guys in Roadies. Please don’t make me to get hooked out

Katrina – typical lead lady as per FK movie format(Remember Sushmita / Amrita in MHN and Deepika in OSO). When I mentioned TYPICAL, I meant – to beautify the screen. I would like to know anyway, the purpose of ‘Sheila ….’ Song sequence

Muzik – Average. Only Sheila is going to survive

I can’t miss few hilarious sequences which made the wasooli for the movie:

· The baby dancing holding the umbilical cord during title track

· Introduction of Master India(son of Mr. India)

· Sallu's performance - to impress Katrina in song sequence

· Akshaye getting impulsive over Oscar

· How a villager was made to play the role of Aangrez(specially how he was made to speak accent wallah Hindi)

· ‘Handss up’ by the village cop

· Movie shot by TMK & Team

· AK dual(Akshay Kumar & Akshaye Khanna) ‘Day Ho’ dance

· ‘Mere Desh ki dharti’ song sequence(hope Manoj Kumar will not ‘Mind It’ this time

· Award distribution to movie crew at the end

On the final note TMK is a time-pass movie which could not stand up to the mark of any other Farah Khan movies. Good when friends gang up and go for the movie with non-stop supply of popcorn & pepsi. And haan, get a glance of FK kids at the end…

Now many of you would like to ask - if I rate the movie two ** why do I recommend the movie. This is one of those best movies'to be watched with friends'. shouting, whistling - it is always good to go back to college days!
