Well what separates a good film from an average one? The answer is off course a good film has to be good in different departments of film making like plot, story, direction, performance, cinematography, music, choreography etc. and we can write pages after pages of characteristic of a good movie. If we want to make it short, we can say that it’s all about the presentation, how the movie is presented to the audience. Well if you check the history, there are n-number of cases where two or multiple movies having almost same storyline but some of them are good and the rest are worse. So we can say the movies that are good or doing well in box office, are presented cleverly knowing the choice of their mass audience.

You hate it or like it, but the truth is that Farah Khan understands her target audience well and her last two movies prove the truth of this statement. Her movies may not be critically acclaimed, but loved by the mass and hence the inflow of revenue to her bank account. In both her last two super hit movies, she reflected her sense of humor and though they did not fall under the “Comedy” category, but we had some good laugh. Hence after practicing comedy in the previous movies, this time she decided to come out with a full on comedy and I must say to a great extent she was successful because of her audience oriented presentation. After few mindless comedies for almost one year, when I started wondering how low the comedy movies can fall, suddenly we have Tees Maar Khan, undoubtedly again restored my believe in Bollywood comedy movies.

Plot and story**: Not very great or out of blue, have seen this kind of story of a con man so many times except off course the train robbery is a new plot, (thank god Farah did not go for a Dhoom 2 kind of train robbery).

Character Scratching**: The main protagonist, Tabrez Mirza Khan is a con man. No, he is not like Hritik in Dhoom 2, he is not that slick, stylish, suave and robotic. But he is more of a simple guy with a good heart, lovable and the audience can easily identify him with a guy next door kind of mannerism. But at the same time he is very cleaver and knows how to execute his task. His possessiveness towards his love interest, Anya, a budding actress is really enjoyable. Anya is also very funny with her girlish mannerism. But the surprising character is the big movie star Atish Kapoor who wants to win Oscar at any cost. The movie revolves around these three main characters. There are three sets of supporting characters also added to add the fun factor as well as to support the story. They are:

1. The assistants of Tees Maar Khan, Dollar, Soda and Burger. They could be much better and their overacting can bore you sometime.

2. The two funny police officers (courtesy Thompson and Thompson) played by Murali Sharma and Aman Verma

3. The funny villains, Johri Brothers played by Raghu and Rajiv, the idea was really innovative.

Performance**: Akshay Kumar was excellent, this actor is getting better and better day by day, specially his comic screen presence. Katreena Kaif was good as Anya (knowing her limitations). Akshaye Khanna was outstanding in the role of Atish Kapoor and he again proved that given a chance he can deliver best in any sort of role. He was the secret weapon for Farah.

Dialogue**: Dialogues were good, especially the one liners. They were funny and original.

Cinematography**: Cinematography was good but there were chances where it could be better

.

Music: Music was very good with the current national sensation Sheila ki Jawani. Bishal-Shekhar once again proved their ability to create chart busters.

Choreography**: Excellent, what anything we can expect from a movie directed by Farah Khan? Sheila Ki Jawani was so good that it’s not an exaggeration to say that it made me remember the good old Madhuri-Masterji masterpieces. Wow…a complete paisa usul.

Direction**: Hats off to Farah Khan, she made a not so good script a very good entertainer and a laugh riot. It is all about presentation which she did well keeping the taste of her audience in mind. Throughout the movie either you will laugh your heart out or at least there will be a smile in your face. She exactly knew what she was doing and what she expected the result to be. Very cleaver direction.

Verdict**: It’s not definitely a path breaking, neither you expect it to be a record scattering movie, but it’s a complete Bollywood entertainer which succeeded its mission to entertain it’s audience. This is a one time show and truly a better comedy movie then the rest that were coming out for some time now. My rating :3.5.
