Coffee, Tea or Me?

No, I am not going to lament over the harmful effects of tea and coffee. These are just small notes to myself about two of my wonderful companions over the years.

I cannot miss out those sleepless winter nights studying for the next day examinations- when it seemed that the whole world except me was snoring away to sleeping delights. During those times, it used to be the hot cups up tea and coffee that used to keep me warm and pepped up! I had always done well with my studies, though I used to belong to the “Last Minute Study Club”, I’m sure many of you are members of this esteemed club! One of my friends used to tell me that perhaps it is the whole activity of getting up to preparing tea and coffee that keeps one awake at night more than the stimulating properties. Now, I wouldn’t want to debate on that as long as the effects are fruitful!

Apart from the stressful examination times, my friends and I used to go sometimes as late as 2 or 3’0clock at night to the ‘chai ki tapri’ near our MBA school and talk about many things under the stars! Interesting to note that the chaiwala used to keep his shop open all night long and I must say here that he used to do a good business at night too! Those were the wonder years!

Then came my professional life. Overnight preparations for the next early morning presentation, meeting client deadlines and the list goes on an on.and.guess who was always there for the rescue, yes, you are right, tea and coffee!

Well, so dear readers, after reading this article, please prepare for yourself a hot cup of tea or coffee and recollect some of the moments of your wonderful past and present!
