Story:

No doubt story was awesome. It was different then what Indian viewers have seen before. Because the story starts slow but builds up along with time. I have actually seen the korean original version of the movie(its not that I’m comparing), and the main USP was the sudden thrills, change in Music and the suspense, which made a simple story complex and different then other thriller movies. I was sad at the end because the director missed a mile to capture that essential essence of the movie. Moreover this type of story needs the audience captivated to the screen, but in this movie there were instances were you could go out and come back having a tea and you won’t miss a thing. So that was a big Flaw…

Acting:

Amitabh was yet again able to impress the audience with his mind blowing performance. He has so much potential as an actor that he amazes you every time. I think we are luck to have such an actor of this age and hence the directors/producers are even able to think of making such movies.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, not at his best. Maybe because the director didn’t pay much attention to his character or Nawaz himself wasn’t very comfortable with the role, but overall he did not make a noticeable performance.

Vidya Balan was in the movie. Yes I have to mention it because she just blends in her characters so well that you might not even tell how big a star she is.:) Though she did not had much screen presence but she did justice to her role.

Music:

Average. A good background score is very important for a thriller movie, yeah… but in this case its ok ok.

Cinematography:

The only behind the screen aspect which I would like to mention and is actually noticeable is, Tushar Kanti Ray’s Cinematography. It was really good. He was really able to capture the essence of Kolkata in a fine way.

Overall:

If you have not seen the Korean Verison “Montage”, Not seen Sujoy Ghosh’s “Kahani”, Don’t actually know who Nawaz is, then you can go to watch this movie in theaters. Its not a movie, which if you watch today(Friday), go and discuss with your colleagues/friends on Monday.(Which is a good sign for a thriller movie). So in the end don’t walk in the theater’s expecting to watch a Great movie, but yeah you won’t get bored also.
