Raghu (Nana Patekar), an insurance salesperson now turned taxi driver and Jai (John Abraham), the son of a wealthy business family, are two citizens of Mumbai.

Both these characters live in different worlds. Their paths cross one day when Jai steps into Raghu's cab.

Jai is on his way to court to claim money which is rightfully his.

But soon, a simple cab ride kicks off a journey in which things go unexpectedly and spectacularly wrong.

The strangers turn into vicious adversaries, as both men are sure of only one thing - that the other is to blame!

Speaking of subtle, the comedic style in this film is less slapstick and more subdued. Director handles it well, none of his actors look like clowns when making us laugh. The expressions and reactions are enough for this director to elaborate on. Milan has also done a great job with the scenes between Nana and Sonali. The realness of their interactions is refreshing, not loud or forced like most Bollywood films. On the flip side Lutharia´s film lacks the punch of a solid entertainer. It moves at a decent pace and provides quite a few chuckles, but just the laughs and the serious moments play out in quick succession.

Then dialogues are sometimes really good. The funny lines help the film move and Nana’s character has the best lines in the film. John does well. He shows that he is still a fine actor and a force to reckon with. Sameera's sensuous and shows a vast improvement in performance .

Milan has shot and edited his film well. The cinematography is thrilling, the fights too are sensational… but what… is that all… performances are terrific. And that is what holds up the film along with the dialogues.

In a year where each comedy has been louder than the last, Taxi Number 9211 comes off as a comedy for the masses and classes. A sensible comedy with feeling.
