One would obviously become dumbstruck by seeing the features offered by the latest launch from Tata - the Zest. This time numerous features are somehow squeezed into a single package by India's very own automotive manufacturer.

It has some similarities with that of the e-cs at the first glance. Their hard work proved proved to some extent to keep this one different. The body lines & character lines are pretty sharp. There are not much rewarding aspects regarding the exterior except for the projector type headlamps and alloy wheels which comes as standard from the base model itself.

The bonanza starts just after opening any of the front doors. The dual tone dash board has been aesthetically designed with some chrome and aluminium inserts. The AC vents, instrument cluster, steering wheel has exquisite finishes. The central console together with the gear nob gives an upmarket feel. It also hosts the infotainment system from Harman with 8 sound producing components from JBL(ahem.) and also has many connectivity options. The interior door handles are however positioned strangely just near the A pillar which lies a long way from the front seats. The seats are comfortable and spacious.

The engine especially the petrol has some new stories to tell. The name may sound familiar to Transformers fans but its not Megatron or Galvatron it is Revotron. And this guy has a turbo backing from Honeywell. Strangely the petrol doesn't has an automatic variant but comes with 3 drive modes - city, sport and eco.

For the diesel version all except one is having a VGT(cant figure it out why such a single exception was made) Anyhow the diesel has an automatic and that too an F-tronic.

From all these aspects, it is clearly evident that Tata is trying their best to have a decent market share. They are throwing every possible things towards the customer to make the package attractive. But with problems regarding their long term reliability has probably made Tata a brand of least priority for many customers.

Anyhow, as the Zest is jam packed with features it could become a game changer for them.
