Hi! Friends. If you want total pure drinking water and use water from borewells or ponds then you should go for electric RO+ UV water purifier. But if you use water from municipal supply or do not have the space or ease of installing a electric water purifier then go for it.
Among the various brands available in the market, Tata Swach Silver Boost is the most economical and with less recurring maintainance cost. Others with less price or less maintainance cost are not offering the same amount of purification as it. Same quality available with only one more brand and that is pure it, but it has a high maintainance cost and also not user friendly which means you have to call their men to service it. Tata Swach offers high capacity storage i.e. 27 ltrs and boast of 5 stage purification. Those are first normal filtration of iron and rust, then passing through a device which consists of cleaning with activated charcoal, clorine and other chemicals and lastly another UF Membrane cleaning.
Also it has a safety mechanism which automatically blocks the supply of water if the filters need changing thus ensuring safety of the consumer. Also it has a added feature which may be handy to some that is it has a option of direct filling from tap and the parts needed for it is also supplied by default. I agree it may not as good as electric water purifier with RO+ UV but as I stay in a Kolkata which supplies clean water already so it is okay to have that extra clening of water and there is no need to have a RO+ UV system because it is costly and also need space and connection of water and electricity.
