I own both Tata Sky and DISH at home - both in working condition on separate TVs.
Let me break it down for you in terms of which one to go for:
Content: Yes, Tata Sky was way behind in this department but over the last few months they have become much better. Channels like Romedy etc which were not available in HD are now there. I would say Dish TV And Tata Sky are now at par in the content department
Service: It's Dish TV on this one! My connection was installed within just 1 hour of purchase and everytime I've had an issue they are able to resolve it quickly. As opposed to this, Tata Sky has almost invariuably always kept me on hold. In fact, the remote got spoilt and it was replaced after 3 days of waiting!
Cost: Purchasing cost of both are the same, but the pack cost for TAta Sky is wayyyyy higher. In fact, my monthly bill for Tata is now at a sky rocketing 900+ while DishTV gives me all channels at just 650!
DishTV it is. no need for the seemingly fancy Tata Sky.
